Once Upon A Time’s Emma Swan, Jennifer Morrison, Reflects on her time on show

ouat-emma-rofileThe third season of ABC’s Once Upon A Time Complete Third Season comes out on Blu-Ray DVD today. To help promote the release, Disney has shared this interview with Jennifer Morrison ( aka “Emma Swan”). Morrison shares her involvement in the series’ direction, the possibility of her directing an episode, and what she thinks contributes to the success of the series.

Q: Do you think one day Emma and evil queen Regina [Lana Parrilla] will find a way to get along?
A: Maybe in real life that would be possible but with a television show there wouldn’t be much drama if they got along. So much of television is based on conflict, resolving things and coming together, and it all goes in cycles. To keep intrigue going and to keep people tuning in to see what’s going on I think we’re always going to be in cycles of conflict together.

Q: What did you most enjoy about making the third season?
A: Selfishly my favorite part of season three was doing the last two episodes because they were both basically about Emma going on this great adventure. It was really fun. Emma had never been in Fairy Tale Land [aka The Enchanted Forest] before so for her to be there, to see her parents back in time meeting and falling in love, plus all of the journeys and adventures that I got to go on in those two episodes was really fun. Also to wear the gowns and the capes and be a part of that world that Emma had never been a part of before was definitely a fun adventure for me. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in store for her when we start filming season four [in July].

As Once Upon A Time enters its fourth season on ABC, they shared the first images of the Frozen-inspired season of Once Upon a Time. We also have a look back on the show’s presence in San Diego during SDCC’14 on Saturday morning.

The SDCC panel included co-creators and executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, along with Lana Parrilla (Regina), Josh Dallas (David), Emilie de Ravin (Belle), Colin O’Donoghue (Captain Hook), Jared Gilmore (Henry), Robert Carlyle (Mr. Gold) and Jennifer Morrison (Emma). They discussed the upcoming season of new characters, new adventures and new rivalries.

During the panel, they debuted a clip featuring Frozen’s Elsa (Georgina Haig) and Anna (Elizabeth Lail) putting flowers on their parents’ gravestones. Apparently the Frozen storyline on the series will take place after the events of the hit Disney film.

They also showed a second clip, filmed a few days before SDCC’14, featuring what looked like Regina returning to her old ways. The clip also featured a return appearance by the Mirror (played again by Giancarlo Esposito).

Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow) couldn’t be there in person, but did send a lovely video greeting from the set of the show in Vancouver:
