I was standing right in front for the Cars Land Grand Opening event (just behind John Ratzenberger and Randy Newman, seriously), but my video isn’t nearly as good as this official release from Disney (below), so let’s use theirs! Read More »Cars Land Grand Opening Event – Video
As readers of this blog surely know, when Disney California Adventure Park opened almost 12 years ago as a second gate to Disneyland it wasn’t the hit that Disney or its fans hoped it would be. In fact, it was written off by many as a ridiculous concept done on the cheap. For the record, I’ve always enjoyed the park, but I understand what people were saying, it needed more everything: rides, shows, food, theming, and above all else, it needed more magic. It needed more Disney.
Marketing for Pixar’s Cars Land really is picking up. This new video attempts to go viral with a really cute idea – Dozens of kids in their Lightning McQueen Toy Cars driving through Disneyland and into Disney California Adventure with the eventual destination of Cars Land. Watch to the end for a cameo by Pixar’s John Lasseter (sporting a Cars Hawaiian shirt, of course).
To me this evokes some of Disneyland’s earliest promotions with Autopia Cars driving down Main Street USA. I mean, come on, who hasn’t wanted to do that.
Update: Disney has released an alternate “high-octane” version of the video. It’s also very cute.
Photographer Daniel Navarrete used over 30,000 still photos taken over the course of a year to create this fantastic video of Disneyland and California Adventure. Using the magic of Time-Lapse Navarrete gives the parks a new perspective. Almost makes It’s A Small World look like… Read More »Time-Lapse Disneyland Video Fun

Construction is now well underway in the last section of ride. I was able to take the following video this morning so you can see the progress for yourself:
There were a couple more changes out on the savannah, which I’ve documented below:
For the last few years Star Wars Weekends has been advertising the event with a series of witty posters that set characters from the Star Wars Universe in odd situations at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Here are a bunch from this year.
Okay. Some of those are from previous years too. But they’re still funny. A couple of the preview videos from Star Wars Weekends below the jump:
I guess the first video Disney World released on the gigantic chandeliers at the Beauty & The Beast themed Be Our Guest restaurant was pretty popular. They’ve now released a second video with even more information and more video of the restaurant. That’s certainly going… Read More »Be Our Guest – More Video Details From Disney’s Imagineers
We came to ride Space Mountain but it was 101 (Disney speak for non-operational). So in hopes of a chance to ride through the building we ran over to the Peoplemover. Luck was with us and the lights were on. I like this version because… Read More »Space Mountain – Lights On Via the Peoplemover
