Morning Roundup – June 27

DLP.info reports that early autopsy results indicate the teenage girl who died while riding Rock’n’Roller Coaster at Disneyland Resort Paris did not die from trauma. This lends weight to the tragic of pre-existing conditions contributing to the death. Inspections also found no mechanical malfunction on the attraction and it has since re-opened. Disney Afternoon Soundtrack bling

I wasted many a study session watching the Disney Afternoon back at the college dorm. Sky High, a hit for Disney?

Sky High did okay for itself at the box office this weekend earning a respectable 3rd place and $14.6 million for its debut. Instead, the ride tours the solar system before hurtling out through asteroid showers to skim past supernovas and other astronomical phenomena, portrayed with high-definition video and a host of other new effects. Paris Disneyland unveiled… Read More »Space Mountain II???

Old Disneyland/Anaheim Googie Pics

Disneyland was built as the Googie architecture craze was coming into it’s own in Southern California. So much of the surrounding areas of Anaheim that arose with the success of Disneyland featured the Googie style. My favorite Googie site is Space Age City. I just found this link to Synthetrix’s “Photos of the Forgotten” and… Read More »Old Disneyland/Anaheim Googie Pics
