Last week’s “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” ended with a huge revelation and in this week episode “chaos theory” we’re going to see the aftermath of it. The official synopsis for the episode is: As Agent Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet) and the team fight to protect… Read More »Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. S3E7 preview – Chaos Theory
Marvel news has been slow the past few weeks, probably because Star Wars has taken the spotlight for now. However, with the September 29th season premiere quickly approaching, Marvel has given us the first peek at what’s in store for season 3 of Agents of… Read More »Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 Preview
Last night’s episode was less focused on action (though Bobbi Morse did a great impression of Natasha Rominav) and more focused on setting the stage for what’s to come.
Hydra is attempting to weaponize the obelisk’s power but without the obelisk itself they are limited to using a sample from one of its victims, and coming up unsuccessful. In the meantime, Raina goes back to Skye’s father for help with delivering the obelisk to Hydra in order to save her hide. However, he isn’t happy that she has failed to deliver his daughter to him so he refuses.
On her way to Hydra, Raina spots Simmons and decides to use her double agent status to blackmail Coulson. She arranges a meeting with him and offers not to reveal Simmons to Hydra if Coulson allows her to take Skye to her father. Coulson refuses the offer and Raina is visibly shaken (a great performance by Ruth Negga) but she exposes Simmons’s cover anyway. Hydra security chief, Bobbi Morse, has had some run-ins with Simmons as Morse pursues seeks out the mole that has been feeing S.H.I.E.L.D. information. She did a great job intimidating Simmons and actually had me convinced that she was going to have a long road to becoming the hero, Mockingbird.

This week’s episode was a reunion for a few of the characters. We, the audience, were reunited with Simmons who is, happily, not working for Hydra. Fitz and Ward are reunited, which almost ended in Ward’s demise. And, the team is reunited with Donnie Gill.… Read More »Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Disney, ABC, and Marvel have released a cast photo for Agents of SHIELD Season 2.
From left to right we have: Triplett (B.J. Britt); Skye (Chloe Bennet); Fitz (Iain De Caestecker); Agent May (Ming-Na Wen); Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg); Lance Hunter (Nick Blood); Alphonso Mackenzie (Henry Simmons); Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) and finally Grant Ward (Brett Dalton).
I imagine the posing was done very deliberately. So what can we read into this photo? What worries me the most is that Fitz and Simmons aren’t standing together. Also, Skye is looking very Femme Fatale. I wonder what turns her character will take this season.
We also get a look at Agent Hayley Atwell in her flashback segment from Episode 1. Executive producer Jed Whedon tells us that Carter will appear in the episode because “Coulson is a big student of history and wants to return to those old ideals of Agent Carter’s time.” Whedon continues, “He’s, like, ‘Let’s be the S.H.I.E.L.D. we were meant to be!’ He wants to do the job right this time.”

Ok, Awards Season is over and the Olympics are over, so, hopefully that means we will be getting more than one new episode of AoS a month. On the one hand, the show has been trying to build momentum but keeps getting stopped abruptly for weeks at a time which is frustrating considering the uphill battle it’s engaged in for viewers. On the other hand, I am more excited about the back half of this season now than I was at the mid-season break, in large part, because of the past three episodes.
So, welcome back to Level 7…again.
This week, Coulson and his team enlist the help of Ward’s former S.O. in their attempt to save Skye. ABC has been teasing Bill Paxton’s role as John Garrett for a while now and we finally get to see his multi-episode story arc.
Marvel released a short clip from the episode that shows our rescue team in action.
As well as the first few minutes of the episode so we get an idea of Skye’s condition (spoiler alert: it’s not good).Read More »Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Returns to ABC – Preview Episode 14 T.A.H.I.T.I
