Perhaps I had low expectations, but I left the theater feeling impressed with the “inspired by a true story” movie “Million Dollar Arm.” Not only were the performances good, the story wasn’t cookie cutter, and the emotions all one note. The movie will be available… Read More »Million Dollar Arm Swings Onto Blu-Ray and DVD

Additional all-new bonus features include never-before-seen deleted scenes “The Fair” (with Deleted Character The Vulture,) “The Curse is Fulfilled” and “Arrival Of Maleficent,” plus the Beauty-Oke sing-along to “Once Upon A Dream.” The Blu-ray Superset also includes classic DVD bonus features and more!

“Sleeping Beauty” tells the wondrous tale of a princess cursed by an evil fairy, protected by three loving fairies and, ultimately, saved by “true love’s kiss.” Featuring the voice talents of renowned opera singer Mary Costa as Sleeping Beauty and Disney stalwart Eleanor Audley as the evil fairy, Maleficent, the film’s vibrant visuals were created by a team that included Milt Kahl and Ollie Johnston, two of Disney’s legendary Nine Old Men and an Academy Award-nominated score, 1959, adapted from the incandescent music of Peter Tchaikovsky. “Sleeping Beauty” is the sixteenth animated feature in the Disney animated features canon and was the last animated feature produced by Walt Disney to be based upon a fairy tale. It is the tenth film released as part of Disney’s prestigious Blu-ray Diamond Collection.

Competing Walt Disney BioPic Trailers

Walt and Roy from "Walt Before Mickey"

Walt and Roy from “Walt Before Mickey”

You may have heard about the new unofficial Walt Disney Biopic. It focuses on Walt’s early years from his birth until the point he loses Oswald The Lucky Rabbit and partners with Ubb Iwerks to create Mickey Mouse. But did you know there are two competing Walt Disney Biopics.

There are. “As Dreamers Do” and “Walt Before Mickey” both cover essentially the same part of Walt’s life. Dreamers came out a little earlier this year with a festival premiere and “Walt Before Mickey” is just getting ready for release.

Walt Before Mickey stars a few names you might know. Thomas Ian Nicholas (American Pie) plays Walt, Jon Heder (Napolean Dynamite) is Roy Disney. David Henrie (Wizards of Waverly Place) and Hunter Gomez (National Treasure, Family Guy) are also in the cast.

In case you missed it, here’s the trailer for “As Dreamers Do: The Amazing Life of Walt Disney.” It has less well known actors, but the support of some big Disney fans.

Once Upon A Time’s Emma Swan, Jennifer Morrison, Reflects on her time on show

ouat-emma-rofileThe third season of ABC’s Once Upon A Time Complete Third Season comes out on Blu-Ray DVD today. To help promote the release, Disney has shared this interview with Jennifer Morrison ( aka “Emma Swan”). Morrison shares her involvement in the series’ direction, the possibility of her directing an episode, and what she thinks contributes to the success of the series.

Q: Do you think one day Emma and evil queen Regina [Lana Parrilla] will find a way to get along?
A: Maybe in real life that would be possible but with a television show there wouldn’t be much drama if they got along. So much of television is based on conflict, resolving things and coming together, and it all goes in cycles. To keep intrigue going and to keep people tuning in to see what’s going on I think we’re always going to be in cycles of conflict together.

Q: What did you most enjoy about making the third season?
A: Selfishly my favorite part of season three was doing the last two episodes because they were both basically about Emma going on this great adventure. It was really fun. Emma had never been in Fairy Tale Land [aka The Enchanted Forest] before so for her to be there, to see her parents back in time meeting and falling in love, plus all of the journeys and adventures that I got to go on in those two episodes was really fun. Also to wear the gowns and the capes and be a part of that world that Emma had never been a part of before was definitely a fun adventure for me. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in store for her when we start filming season four [in July].
