Galavant: The Theme Song

galalvant-title

Galavant is Disney’s comedic take on the knights of legends from across the pond. It appears to be important a bit of that British style of humor as well.

I wasn’t quite sure how far Disney was going to take Galavant. But judging by the lyrics to the theme song, they aren’t afraid to go out on a ledge with the humor:

Galavant follows Jashua Sasse as Galvant as the dashing hero fights to get the love of his live, Madalena, back from the evil King Richard. Now, our fallen hero is ready to take revenge and restore his “happily ever after.” But it won’t be without a few twists and turns along the way.

Galavant premieres Sunday, Jan 4 at 8|7c on ABC. It’s actually a double feature with two episodes “Pilot” and “Joust Friends.” Read the episode summaries below the jump:

Disney Parks Frozen Christmas Celebration Details Announced

Robin Roberts and Tim Tebow Tape the 2014 Disney Parks Frozen Christmas Celebration TV Special

There’s something about the holiday season that makes me think of visiting Disneyland or Walt Disney World. The parks are just a little more magical with all the holiday decorations and special entertainment offerings, that it doesn’t even bother me that the crowds are huge this time of year. I know it’s not always possible to sneak in a trip, or you may just want to avoid the crowded season. Thanks to the yearly Disney Parks Christmas Parade, you can still get in the highlights.

This year, Disney has put a “Frozen” twist on its 31st annual Christmas Day telecast, which has been renamed the “Disney Parks Frozen Christmas Celebration.” As usual, it will air on Dec. 25, 2014 on ABC-TV.

Robin Roberts of ABC’s “Good Morning America” will host the reimagined television special inspired by the blockbuster hit’s message of uniting family and loved ones. Roberts will lead the telecast from Walt Disney World Resort in Florida with support from GMA Contributor and ESPN and SEC Network analyst Tim Tebow.

Good Morning America Anchor Robin Roberts Hosts the 2014 Disney Parks Frozen Christmas Celebration TV Special

They will be joined by Rob Marciano, senior meteorologist of ABC’s “Good Morning America” from the “The Happiest Place on Earth” at Disneyland Resort. Sarah Hyland, star of ABC’s Emmy award-winning show “Modern Family,” joins the fun from Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai‛i. The festivities will also feature a special appearance by Miss America 2015, Kira Kazantsev, making this year’s Christmas special a magical “Frozen” celebration not to be missed.

Disney Parks will celebrate this Christmas with more than a parade, but with a heartfelt wish for the holiday season, the coming together of loved ones and family. In keeping with the spirit of “Frozen” where two sisters are united through the power of true love, Disney will bring together three groups of families and friends who have been apart or separated for the holidays, providing the ultimate Christmas gift. The reunions will take place at three magical Disney destinations – Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, and Aulani – making these reunions bigger, brighter and merrier.Read More »Disney Parks Frozen Christmas Celebration Details Announced

International Posters for Pixar’s Inside Out

inside_out_intl-poster

I’m really loving these retro-modern character designs for the French poster for Pixar’s Inside Out. It’s also the first time that the silhouette head was of Riley’s, the young girl in the film. The French title of the movie as “Vice-Versa” is also pretty neat. I think that would have made a great title of the film in the US too.

The Japan poster ditches the stylized characters, but keeps the shape of Riley’s head.

Does Disney have big plans for Indiana Jones?

header-indybig

When Disney acquired Lucasfilm, all eyes immediately focused on the Star Wars property. After all, fans were eager to wash out the bad taste of the prequels. Then things got interesting. With rumors that the original cast were coming, Star Wars fans were thrown into a fever pitch of excitement.

Of course we now know that Luke, Leia, and Han are coming back. At what cost though? A year ago, there was a rumor that for Harrison, that meant another Indiana Jones. The story goes that as part of his negotiations for piloting the Falcon one more time, he leveraged Disney to start production on Indiana Jones 5.

There has been little news up until now. Bob Iger has commented that they are simply pacing themselves. After Crystal Skull, who can blame them. It still seems Disney is looking for a story though.

For me, this is incredibly encouraging. That Disney is taking their time is huge for me. I love the Indiana Jones movies and I think there really isn’t anything like them in cinema. While Crystal Skull was ultimately a let down, it still felt like an Indiana Jones movie. It gave me the same sense of excitement and everything. This was then dashed upon the rocks but still, it satisfied a need.Read More »Does Disney have big plans for Indiana Jones?
