Disney Adds More Branded Healthy Fruit Snack Options

flavorz-disney-food

I remember when Disney first decorated apples at the local grocery store with a Snow White sticker. What marvelous cross-marketing, I thought. Although perhaps with a mixed message since Snow’s apple was poisoned by the Wicked Queen. That aside, Disney has spent the last few years growing its support of healthy snacks for kids and the latest selections are about to be highlighted at the Produce Marketing Association’s convention.

Kid-friendly and parent approved, Disney Consumer Products (DCP booth #783)will showcase its newest selection of “better for you” produce, lunch items, and snacks at the Produce Marketing Association’s (PMA) Fresh Summit Convention & Expo on October 18 – 20 in New Orleans, LA. Sales of Disney-branded fruits and vegetables have tripled over the last two years, and more than 3.1 billion servings of Disney-themed fruits and vegetables have been served in the U.S. since 2006. Grocery retailers have expanded distribution of Disney-branded produce, and licensees continue to introduce new products featuring beloved characters from Mickey Mouse and Disney Princess to Monsters University and Marvel Super Heroes.

“Disney’s growth in the produce arena is a great sign that kids and parents are receiving the message and incorporating more fruits and vegetables into their daily meals,” said John T. King, director of licensing, consumables, Disney Consumer Products. “We continue to innovate, delivering flavors that appeal to kids and offering an ever-expanding assortment of fruits and vegetables featuring the Disney characters kids know and love.”

Through innovative marketing campaigns and in-store experiences, families have been encouraged to choose more nutritious food options and live a more active lifestyle. For the first time, DCP’s PMA booth experience will feature artwork from Marvel and Star Wars, representing the entirety of The Walt Disney Company entertainment brands under one umbrella.

Part of Disney’s MagicBands Testing? Here’s Everything you Need to Know.

Magic-Bands-002

Disney is continuing to roll out MagicBands, the handy dandy alternative to your Key to the World Card, across property. While Disney originally planned to roll out the bands property-wide by the middle of this month, it now appears that testing will continue at least through November. What does this mean for you? Well, if you’re going to Disney World between now and Christmas you’ll most likely use the bands, although you should monitor the situation. Using the bands isn’t complicated, but it requires you to take several steps before you travel. First things first, you’ll want to get set up online with Disney.

1.  Go to MyDisneyExperience.com and log into your account. If you don’t have one, you’ll want to create an account, which takes only a few minutes.

2. Once there, add your resort reservation.  This is your confirmation number and the lead guest’s last name.  You can customize each guest with a cute Disney-themed avatar at this time.  If you have a Disney package, your tickets will be automatically added. If you don’t have tickets on your package, you’ll have to have to add them manually. This can be a problem if you’re buying them at check-in, because you can’t choose fastpasses until you have a valid ticket.Read More »Part of Disney’s MagicBands Testing? Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D episode four preview – Eye Spy

Previously on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Skye had her first training session with Ward (which came in handy later in the episode) as they continue to bond. I’m sure this will turn romantic eventually (they always do), but I’m enjoying the brother-sister bond that seems… Read More »Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D episode four preview – Eye Spy

Iron Man 3 Blu-Ray Review

Iron Man 3, despite having a plot twist that kills the fan boy inside of me every time I see it, is currently my favorite movie this year. It is very different in tone than the first two movies, but I think that’s good. The… Read More »Iron Man 3 Blu-Ray Review
