The best Marvel movies are the ones that can take the high energy action scenes and extensive special effects required in a superhero movie and infuse them with enough heart and humor to make the characters relatable, no matter what the setting. Ant-Man is one… Read More »Movie Review: Ant-Man Leaps Big and Lands Solid on His First Marvel Outing
Downtown Disney welcomed a new store focused on Disney’s Marvel Super Heroes this week. From the world of Marvel comes one of its smallest heroes, Ant-Man. The first trailer for the movie has just been released and it’s jam packed with ant-sized goodness. Okay, it’s actually human-sized this time. That joke only works once, or twice if you like the official poster.
We get a look at Dr. Hank Pym and his secret lab, master thief Scott Lang who will assume the role of Ant-Man, we even get a look at the incredible shrinking process where as an ant-sized hero he does things like ride wasps and defeat evil.
I know only the smallest amount about Ant-Man, so I wasn’t sure how much I’d like the movie. But this trailer is great and has me excited to see more. The wait until July 17th is going to be crazy, of course there is some Avengers goodness before that.
Marvel’s “The Avengers” set the bar really high for movies set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “Iron Man 3” answered with the first hints of a new direction and “Thor: The Dark World” showed that humans could fight along side the super heroes and survive. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” takes that world and twists everything around setting the stage for “The Avengers: Age of Ultron.”
But I’m getting ahead of myself and the plot.
As the story begins, Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, is settling into his new role in the modern world, but finding the fit a bit uncomfortable. When he sees how S.H.I.E.L.D. plans to respond to the troubles of the modern world, Rogers confronts Nick Fury. Fury has his own concerns, which brings him to the attention of The Winter Soldier, and that’s when the excitement really begins.
Check out this first trailer for Thor: The Dark World, aka Thor 2. There’s a lot riding on this film for Disney and Marvel. We’ve seen that Iron Man and the Avengers can draw wild box office numbers, while the first Thor was just successful. If this film can carry the momentum Marvel has built up over the last year or so, then I think it has a pretty good chance.
The trailer rocks anyway. Let us know what you think in the comments.
The latest trailer for Iron Man 3 has hit the interwebz. I saw it the other day infront of the press screening for Oz The Great and Powerful where the audience actually cheered throughout the trailer. Tony Start is definitely dealing with some personal issues.… Read More »New Iron Man 3 Trailer & Poster
Also viewable on Apple’s trailer site. That’s the UK trailer above, which has April 2013 as the opening date, the US trailer maintains it will have a May 2013 opening. Sooner is better in my book. My initial thoughts are that Tony Stark is pulling… Read More »Iron Man 3 Trailer
