The makeover of Disney California Adventure continues. After a massive “place-making” exercise to remake the park, pretty much the only untouched land was Condor Flats. A few months ago that area too went under the Imagineer’s knife and later this month the first section will… Read More »Grizzly Peak re-theming concept art from Disney California Adventure
Bunnies bring easter eggs right? Maybe that explains why they’re all over Walt Disney World this time of year. It’s getting to be an annual tradition. The popular Egg-stravaganza egg-hunt is returning to Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and EPCOT from March 27-April 5, this spring.… Read More »Disney Parks Bringing back Egg-stravaganza hunt for 2015
As sure as the Earth goes round our sun, Disney’s US theme parks have raised their admission prices again.
As predicted the Walt Disney World one-day ticket price for the Magic Kingdom broke the $100 barrier increasing by $6 to $105. The other three Orlando parks – Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios – only rose $3 from $94 to $97. That’s $2 less than originally thought.
On the other coast, a one-day adult admission to Disneyland or Disney California Adventure will rise from $96 to $99. Prices for children ages 3 to 9 will rise from $90 to $93. A Premium annual pass with parking and no blackout dates will go up from $699 to $779. Almost a full day increase, but still a value if you go just 10 days a year.
I don’t really blame Disney. One of the big complaints I hear is crowds in the park. People were used to crowds during the busy season, but now it seems busy season all year long. Raising prices could help cap the crowds.
Frozen Fun is now at Disney California Adventure Park and everyone at the Disneyland resort is excited! Some of the park’s most famous famous have organized a sing along to “For the First Time in Forever” and hope you’ll join in. In this cute ad spot Harold the Abominable snowman, a goat from Big Thunder Mountain, a Twilight Zone Bell Hop, and more all join in.
In case you missed them, here are the most visited stories of the week on The Disney Blog.
We had two major construction updates last week.
First we looked at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which added 11 new animal ‘carvings’ to the roots area of the Tree of Life. It makes for a great new photo spot. Much of the park is behind construction walls as they prepare to add two new nighttime shows, a water show called “Rivers of Light” and a street spectacular that does not yet have a name, on Discovery Island. Our second update includes looks at those two projects along with some smaller changes.
Disney Springs transformation was the focus of our second construction update. While the parking garage is not fully open, the new spot-finder lights are working. Additionally, construction on the Landing is moving fast with some shops open and many more getting close. Of course, there’s still a long way to go. Marketplace Co-op also added custom mobile cases sizes including the Galaxy S5 (my phone, yeah!).
Some big news Disney California Adventure. One of the original Cars Land attractions is about to close forever and a new attraction will take it’s place. Luigi’s Flying Tires has been in operation since 2012 in the Casa della Tires location of Radiator Springs from… Read More »Luigi’s Flying Tires to close at DCA, Replacement due in 2016
My family and I recently participated in the inaugural Avengers Half Marathon Weekend at the Disneyland Resort as guests of RunDisney, and it was just as super as you like your Marvel adventures to be. Yes, it was that powerful. We ran the Avengers 5K… Read More »Weekend Avengers and RunDisney
