The Disney Magic’s Aquadunk.

I’m sitting here in the Cove CafĂ© on the Disney Magic recovering from the Aquadunk, which is the newly refurbished Magic’s answer the the Aquaduck, the wild water coaster ride on Disney’s newest ships, the Fantasy and the Dream.  Disney just re-launched the Magic after a months-long refurbishment, adding this amazing water slide with a scary twist: The floor droops out and plunges you down the tube. The entire effect is breathtaking, but not so much so that you’ll not want to do it again. It’s a wonderful addition to this ship.

We stayed on shore during our Cozumel day just to ride the Aquadunk as many times as possible, so we didn’t experience any waits, as most guests were exploring off the ship.  If you’re riding on a normal sea day, expect a wait, but it’s worth it.  You’ll go up several flights of stairs to reach the top then you’ll wait at a plexiglass gate.  Read More »The Disney Magic’s Aquadunk.

Disney Magic to Receive ‘Marvel’-ous Upgrades

The Disney Magic first magical cruise was in 1998 making it the oldest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. That’s not to say it’s showing its age. Disney VoluntEARS clean up Florida Coast

Since 1971 Walt Disney World has been a large part of Central Florida tourism. The influence expanded to the coast when the Disney Cruise Line settled in. So it’s nice to see Disney and its cast members giving back to the community with a coastal cleanup project.

VoluntEARS from Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Cruise Line demonstrated their commitment to local environmental and conservation efforts today, as they teamed with friends, family and community partners to clear more than 250 pounds of trash along the Brevard coastline near the homeport of Disney Cruise Line.

Joining with members from Keep Brevard Beautiful, the United States Coast Guard and the Canaveral Port Authority, this volunteer effort aims to help improve the health of the ocean and waterways.Read More »Disney VoluntEARS clean up Florida Coast

Disney Cruise Line Announces New Intineraries and Ports for 2014

Disney Fantasy at Sea

I know that most families, our included, are barely thinking two weeks ahead most of the time, but if you’ve ever wanted to take a Disney Cruise 2014 is shaping up to be an amazing year for the Disney Cruise Line. The division is realigning its ships so that all four will be departing from Florida at the same time in early 2014.

In the early part of 2014, the Disney Magic will return to Port Canaveral, Fla., joining the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, while the Disney Wonder will homeport in Miami. During this time, guests will have more opportunities than ever to enjoy a Disney cruise that visits Disney’s private island in the Bahamas reserved exclusively for Disney Cruise Line guests, Castaway Cay.

This will mean busy days for the white sand beaches and azure waters of Castaway Cay. Guests will also be tempted to combine a visit to Walt Disney World Resort and experience the expanded Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom. At least that’s the plan.
