By the time we entered the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood (across from Disney’s El Capitan pictured above) for the world premiere of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy my boys were already well-versed in (what had been until recently) the previously unknown band of unlikely heroes.… Read More »Guardians of the Galaxy Hits on All Levels
Thanks to the panel at San Diego Comic-Con and a recent issue of Entertainment Weekly we get to see some of the first images from “Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron” and a fantastic panel of the stars of the movie.
EW journeyed to the set on a day they filmed a pivotal early scene. The cover even offers the world its first look at Ultron, and inside you’ll find a brief synopsis on how he became the bad guy.
There’s also a nice sidebar about how director/writer Joss Whedon creatively worked around Scarlett Johansson’s pregnancy, which was announced just prior to filming.
This issue of Entertainment Weekly is in stores now, or you can read parts of it and view never-before-seen photos online at ew.com.
From the Marvel panel at San Diego Comic-Con we were also treated to more photos from the movie.
Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is due in US theaters May 1, 2015.
If you missed SDCC, like I did, you can watch the full panel from the con courtesy of Marvel

So this is happening! Captain America: The Winter Soldier is due April 4, 2014—we’re talking Falcon, Bucky, and Robert Redford, people. That’s some exciting stuff!
Principal photography has started and the new Captain America movie is up and running. The first film got mixed reviews (I really liked it), so I am curious to see how the sequel fares now that The Avengers has taken everything into another stratosphere.
Nearly three years ago, Disney fans and comic book geeks alike did double takes as they looked at the latest news: Disney bought Marvel Entertainment for $4 billion. While this was less than Disney spent for PIXAR, there were no previous projects between Disney and… Read More »Three Years Later: A Look at Disney’s Acquisition of Marvel
The Avengers will be here soon and the world will be safe once more (where “here” equals a theater near you, and “safe” equals relatively). Still, it’s a nice idea.
With that said, let’s jump right into my review of The Avengers!
