Rich Ross has resigned from his post as Walt Disney Studios Chair. After being promoted from his job running The Disney Channel, Ross has experienced a rocky road with full of strained relationships with many Hollywood insiders, not to mention others inside the Mouse House.… Read More »Disney Studio Chief Rich Ross Resigns
This is me and my boys. I’m looking at the construction being done on the Carthay Circle Theatre in Disney’s California Adventure. My kids are just looking at a wall they can’t see over. Score one for tall (and old).
We recently (as in a couple of weeks ago, but I didn’t have time to post what with the trip to PIXAR and all that, oh, did I mention the trip to PIXAR?) took a weekend visit to the Disneyland Resort (Disneyland updates are here), and while we were there we took a peek at some of the upcoming changes to DCA. You know what I’m talking about:
Those Imagineers are such teases. We know there will be a lot of amazing details in the new Beauty and the Beast themed restaurant “Be Our Guest.” This monster, apparently a mythological beast known as a minotaur, will be a part of the decor in… Read More »Imagineering Shares Minotaur Detail from Be Our Guest Restaurant
I mentioned recently that there are some new t-shirts at Disneyland and I thought you would like to see them. I’m thoughtful like that.
These shirts were found in the Gag Factory shop in Toontown, Disneyland, USA, but knowing Disney I’m sure they are available throughout the parks.
Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald are the only characters that I have seen so far (pictured below). Does anyone know if there are more and/or more to come?Read More »Disneyland T-Shirt Round Up
Pixar’s Brave looks better with every little bit of information that’s released. Today it’s a new still from the movie featuring Merida, a lurking bear, and a mysterious blue light.
If you remember a few days ago we looked at the international marketing for Pixar’s Brave. Turns out a new Japanese poster has been released. It contains what may be our first glimpse of the eccentric Witch from the film. Since that’s a spoiler, I’ve placed it and the official movie synopsis below the jump:
Disneynature’s Chimpanzee opens this weekend and as such you may be looking for some information and activities that tie-in to the film. You’re in luck.
The good people at Disneynature have released a series of kid-friendly activity sheets, educational packets, and production information for your enjoyment (I know I said it’s for non-chimps, but chimps can do it too. It’s all in the thumbs!). Take a look:Read More »Chimpanzee Activities for Non-Chimps
Time marches on and summer is almost here. That means it’s time for another photo update from the Magic Kingdom. Disney continues making real progress toward opening the rest of Storybook Circus and, hopefully, parts of Fairytale Forest (of whatever they’re calling the new section these days).
It’s a long update today, so let’s get right to it, then, shall we. The Bakery facade remains shrouded along with two buildings in Town Square. I’m glad they’re doing the facade refurbishments, but it has been taking a long time.
Rapunzel is now doing meet & greets next to Town Hall. Her old place near Fantasyland is being converted for the Scottish Princess Merida. I think they should have had a cage match with the winner earning the best location.
Over the past few years, the Toronto International Film Festival, which now hosts programming year-round, has been host to some memorable Disney film experiences; i.e. the world premieres of Waking Sleeping Beauty and Pixar’s Hawaiian Vacation. The trend continued this past Friday as a sold out house enjoyed… Read More »‘Chimpanzee’: Resist the Urge to Hug the Screen
