You may have heard about the new unofficial Walt Disney Biopic. It focuses on Walt’s early years from his birth until the point he loses Oswald The Lucky Rabbit and partners with Ubb Iwerks to create Mickey Mouse. But did you know there are two competing Walt Disney Biopics.
There are. “As Dreamers Do” and “Walt Before Mickey” both cover essentially the same part of Walt’s life. Dreamers came out a little earlier this year with a festival premiere and “Walt Before Mickey” is just getting ready for release.
Walt Before Mickey stars a few names you might know. Thomas Ian Nicholas (American Pie) plays Walt, Jon Heder (Napolean Dynamite) is Roy Disney. David Henrie (Wizards of Waverly Place) and Hunter Gomez (National Treasure, Family Guy) are also in the cast.
In case you missed it, here’s the trailer for “As Dreamers Do: The Amazing Life of Walt Disney.” It has less well known actors, but the support of some big Disney fans. Read More »Competing Walt Disney BioPic Trailers
College sports fans are about to find that the universe of Star Wars has found its way on to the campuses and into their sports apparel and accessories lines. To borrow a phrase from that other franchise, resistance is futile.
Now college sports fans can celebrate their school pride with new iconic designs from the Star Wars saga! Everything you need for an intergalactic sports showdown: T-shirts, caps, throws, outerwear, lunchboxes, coolers, and more featuring each college’s unique graphics and favorite Star Wars characters like Yoda, Darth Vader, stormtroopers, and more. Almost 60 schools are participating so far.
The apparel is already available at top retailers such as Kohls and Old Navy, and the entire range will roll out to campus stores nationwide this fall. I very much hope they decide to carry these at the parks too. The Co-op Marketplace at Disney Springs would be the perfect place for these.
This actually isn’t all that new of an idea, in the old Team Mickey Downtown Disney location, Disney used to sell t-shirts and accessories for a small number of colleges with Disney characters on it (Donald Duck for Oregon, but mostly Mickey Mouse).

Disney, ABC, and Marvel have released a cast photo for Agents of SHIELD Season 2.
From left to right we have: Triplett (B.J. Britt); Skye (Chloe Bennet); Fitz (Iain De Caestecker); Agent May (Ming-Na Wen); Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg); Lance Hunter (Nick Blood); Alphonso Mackenzie (Henry Simmons); Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) and finally Grant Ward (Brett Dalton).
I imagine the posing was done very deliberately. So what can we read into this photo? What worries me the most is that Fitz and Simmons aren’t standing together. Also, Skye is looking very Femme Fatale. I wonder what turns her character will take this season.
We also get a look at Agent Hayley Atwell in her flashback segment from Episode 1. Executive producer Jed Whedon tells us that Carter will appear in the episode because “Coulson is a big student of history and wants to return to those old ideals of Agent Carter’s time.” Whedon continues, “He’s, like, ‘Let’s be the S.H.I.E.L.D. we were meant to be!’ He wants to do the job right this time.”

It’s off-season again at the Magic Kingdom and that means construction walls are already popping up all over the park. We have a look at a few of the changes going on around the park that are visible from on-stage. I don’t have a lot of pictures of the Halloween decor because I’ll be heading to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party tonight, but there are some ‘Fall’ decorations you might appreciate.
This time of year at the parks is one of my favorites. The weather starts to chill and the crowds begin to thin. That means us locals finally get a chance to go on those new and major attractions we’ve been avoiding all summer due to long lines. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Anna & Elsa meet and greet anyone?
Yankee Traders will reopen as a Haunted Mansion themed shop after a brief refurbishment
For now, all the heavy construction action is going on over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney Springs. But I would not be entirely suprised to hear that the Magic Kingdom will get something new when it comes to the Star Wars attractions that will be added to the parks.
Finally, although I don’t have any photos of it, the crane is back to install the Cinderella Castle Dream Lights for Christmas season. You’ll just have to find a unique angle to take that castle photo from. Also, if you haven’t already seen it, don’t miss our September update from the Magic Kingdom Plaza / Hub construction project.
Ever wonder what the cast members who play Walk Around Princess characters in the parks experience on a day to day basis? One former cast member took to Reddit for an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session. And it went a little weird. Kristen Sotakoun (who… Read More »Former Disney Princess does Reddit AMA
