New Marvel The Avengers Clips

Could this be the least exciting superhero movie poster ever?

Two new TV spots and a clip from the movie are here to pump you up about the new Marvel The Avengers movie. The first clip shows a bit of what Loki’s army looks like, the second TV clip reveals the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier and a clip from the movie shows the Black Widow as she gets called in from a mission.

Otherworldly enough for you?

Nice. Does that Helicarrier remind anyone else of a similar ship from Doctor Who?

Below the cut is the Black Widow clip and a new series of posters for The Avengers. The one above of Agent Coulson is actually a bit of a joke released for the actor’s 50th birthday.

Chimpanzee To Open on Earth Day

Disneynature takes moviegoers deep into the forests of Africa with “Chimpanzee,” a new True Life Adventure introducing an adorable young chimpanzee named Oscar and his entertaining approach to life in a remarkable story of family bonds and individual triumph.  Oscar’s playful curiosity and zest for discovery showcase the intelligence and ingenuity of some of the most extraordinary personalities in the animal kingdom. Working together, Oscar’s chimpanzee family—including his mom, Isha, and the group’s savvy leader, Freddy — navigates the complex territory of the forest.

The world is a playground for little Oscar and his fellow young chimpanzees, who’d rather make mayhem than join their parents for an afternoon nap. But when Oscar’s family is confronted by a rival band of chimpanzees, he is left to fend for himself until a surprising ally steps in and changes his life forever.  Directed by Alastair Fothergill (“African Cats” and “Earth”) and Mark Linfield (“Earth”), and narrated by Tim Allen (ABC’s “Last Man Standing”), “Chimpanzee” swings into theaters on April 20, 2012, just in time for Earth Day.

Are you planning to make the next DisneyNature film Chimpanzee part of your Earth Day celebrations? It turns out the production involved more than just sending one guy with a camera out into the forest to film some wild animals. They sent a whole crew and boy did they have fun. Julie Andrews helps Disney Celebrate National Princess Week

Yeah, I know this is just a big marketing gimmick by Disney Consumer Products to get you to buy more Disney Princess merchandise or to shop at Target, which makes me wonder why they’re not promoting The Disney Stores since selling the magic at Target and Walmart is party of what doomed The Disney Stores in the first place. But hey, it’s Julie freakin Andrews. Also, Ican’t believe it’s been 10 years since the Princess Diaries was released. That’s scary. Anyway, here’s the press release. Shop in good health:

Beloved Academy Award-winning actress, singer and best-selling children’s book author Julie Andrews, in collaboration with Target and The Walt Disney Company, introduce the first annual National Princess Week. During this enchanting week-long event, taking place April 22-28, children across the country are invited to celebrate the sparkle and wonder of every princess – real, aspiring or imagined.

“Throughout my career as an actress and author, I’ve encouraged children to use their imaginations and dream big,” said Julie Andrews. “Joining Disney and Target to create National Princess Week is an extension of my work – a moment in time for children to celebrate their individuality and let their inner sparkle shine.”

Castle 4-20: The Limey

A couple weeks ago, I stated that the rest of this season of Castle would turn serious. Looks like I was misled. Okay, so I’ll admit that this show has some more serious moments, but there were lots of light, fun moments as well. And lots of fallout from last week’s revelation.

Speaking of which, last week, TV Guide made an excellent point. Why didn’t Castle talk to Beckett about what he overheard instead of assuming her lack of acknowledgement meant she didn’t love him back. This week, Beckett compounds the problem. Is there any hope of our favorite couple?

The episode starts with a dead body on the floor of a hotel room. A man is searching for something while a maid is trying to get into the room. He finds it just in time and walks out of the room just before the maid walks in. She doesn’t think anything of it until she finds the body and lets out a scream.Read More »Castle 4-20: The Limey

Cry Me a River, Dancing With the Stars Week 3 Recap

Last night’s show featured dances portraying a story from the most memorable years of the stars’ lives. I wore my waterproof mascara in preparation for the waterworks. That was a wise choice. Katherine and Mark finished at the top of the leader board with a… Read More »Cry Me a River, Dancing With the Stars Week 3 Recap
