Disneyland’s Floral Mickey Through The Years

The first and last photo of many a guest’s Disneyland visit is taken in front of the world renown Floral Mickey. So popular was the first one, that they’re a common feature of every Magic Kingdom style park. Of course, Mickey has seen a few… Read More »Disneyland’s Floral Mickey Through The Years

Splash Mountain returns from Rehab looking good

Splash Mountain, the Magic Kingdom’s classic log flume ride, has returned from a refurbishment with a fresh coat of paint and fixes for nearly all the special effects and animatronics in the attraction (but not all unfortunately). This TLC was much needed and has brought life back to many of the scenes including the Grand Finale which I’ve included here. Those chickens and pigs haven’t moved like that in years. It’s very nice to see.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Construction Update

I had the pleasure of wandering through New Fantasyland earlier this week and was impressed with the progress on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster. Rapunzel Restrooms Update from Magic Kingdom

It’s time to take a look at the progress made on the next major expansion of Fantasyland – The Tangled Toilets. Since we last checked in, they’ve added many more details from the films, some trees, benches, and mist fans for that cooling effect while you wait. It might take some amazing self-control but you’ll still have to wait a bit for the next big attraction to hit the Magic Kingdom. Yes the Rapunzel restrooms are nearing completion. We have new photos showing how much work has been done in the last few weeks. There are lanterns, new pathways, and, of course, the tower from the movie Tangled.

Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Hints from Game Creator

I’ll admit it’s been a while since I’ve played Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. It’s not that I don’t enjoy the game, but just that with shorter off-season hours, I don’t get to the property as much and when I do, I have other things to do when I am there (EPCOT’s 30th took a big chunk of my energy and time for one). I’m also a little disappointed that the game really hasn’t evolved any from its debut. No new portals, no new villains, and only two new spell cards. Plus there was the whole 61-70 card money grab by merchandising. The whole project started to stink a bit.

That said, I do intend to get back in the game and also to see if I can re-interest my son in playing again as well. If you’re still involved, or hoping to get involved in SotMK, then you’ll be interested in some inside tips shared with the Disney Parks blog by Imagineer and game creator Jonathan Ackley.Read More »Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Hints from Game Creator
