The second trailer for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy was released exclusively on Facebook today. A practice I deplore because, I don’t find Facebook to be that reliable when it comes to embeds functioning cross-platform. There’s a lot of fun things going on in the world of Marvel, so let’s get to it.
Captain America opened up last week as number one in the box office (no surprise there). Opening with $92.6 million, the Winter Soldier now holds the record for the largest movie opening in April ever.
I don’t normally talk about rumors but this one is fun. At the St. Louis Comic-con, Nathan Fillion was asked if he would accept a role in Guardians of the Galaxy if he was asked. Besides being the epitome of a Joss Whedon alum, Fillion has also worked with Guardians’ director James Gunn on Castle. Here’s his response.

Guardians of the Galaxy is going to be Marvel’s most unique movie with the most unfamiliar characters to date. They’ve got an uphill battle ahead of them in order for this movie to be successful. I’ll be honest, the Guardians of the Galaxy comic book is not one I’m at all familiar with. But my friends who like it tell me the movie is going to be totally awesome. I am starting to like the character renderings, including this clip from the movie’s first trailer.

If you want to see more of the trailer, you’ll have to tune in to ABC on Tuesday night to watch Jimmy Kimmel Live. Jimmy will present the World Premiere of the trailer for “Guardians of the Galaxy,” with help from the movie’s star Chris Pratt.
After Jimmy Kimmel Live airs, the trailer will be posted for 24 hours exclusively on Jimmy Kimmel Live’s YouTube channel. (and dozens of other channels who will either record it off the TV or just download it from YouTube…)
