Disney’s popular runDisney division has some big news… a return of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror event. It features a new 10-mile race that will echo the original Tower of Terror 13K race held in 2009. The new race debuts Sept. 29, 2012 and is the sixth signature runDisney event and the second nighttime race at Walt Disney World. In order to make room for this event, the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend will shift to early November.
Reviving the scarily popular Twilight Zone Tower of Terror theme, runDisney unveiled its newest race today, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10-Miler Weekend, which debuts next year at Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park at Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando. As with all runDisney events, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror race weekend will involve a variety of events, including a 5K and Kids’ races, plus a Health and Fitness Expo, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney.
Watching this footage from the 2009 Tower of Terror 13K race, I hope they’re able to capture what everyone says was a great atmosphere throughout the park.

Suddenly, it’s much closer to Halloween than I am ready for. How did that happen? We have a lot of decorating and spooky business left to attend to, but at least we’ve got Disneyland’s Mickey’s Halloween Party under our belt (belt not included with costume).
If you want to visit the Disneyland Resort and enjoy the event for yourself, then you need to hurry — there are only a few nights left! Also, you should know that the event requires its own ticket, but don’t fret — admission to Mickey’s Halloween Party actually allows ticket holders to enter Disneyland a few hours prior to the park closing (the Halloween event happens after the park is closed) so that they can enjoy a bit more of the magic. Most rides are open during Mickey’s Halloween Party.
Every Fall, the Disney Parks transform to cater a recurring celebration called Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, a nighttime event for little “boys and ghouls” to dress up and experience their favorite Park like they have never seen it before. Former participants and winners from Survivor, Amazing Race, and Big Brother assemble at SeaWorld’s Discovery Cove
A large group of past winners, heroes and villains of Survivor got together at Discovery Cove in Orlando for a day of outwitting, outplaying, outlasting and out-and-out relaxing. Discovery Cove focuses on providing the type of memories you can only get by up close and personal visits with marine life and other animals.
Swimming with dolphins and rays and hand feeding exotic birds were Survivor’s first winner, Richard Hatch; the game’s only two-time winner, Sandra Diaz-Twine; villains Russell Hantz and Courtney Yates; and players Yau-Man Chan and Terry Deitz.

Also at the park were players and winners from The Amazing Race and Big Brother, including Amazing Race winner, Jordan Pious.
The winners and players were in Orlando to benefit Give Kids the World, a non-profit organization that exists only to fulfill the wishes of all children with life-threatening illnesses and their families from around the world to experience a memorable, joyful, cost-free visit to Central Florida’s best-loved attractions, and to enjoy the magic of Give Kids The World Village for as long as there is a need.
