At first I wasn’t interested in Disney Movie Anywhere, I had heard that it was only for ipad, iphone, and itouch owners. Those of use who don’t own an iOS 7 capable device, were out of luck. But I was wrong. We ‘alternate’ service users can still view videos (including a few exclusive titles) for free on the website (which isn’t really anywhere, but better than nowhere). But I’m getting ahead of myself.

Disney’s classic animated feature “The Jungle Book” was one of the last to have some input from Walt Disney himself. He died in the middle of its production.
Even without Disney’s death the film had a troubled production. The original director Bill Peet quit over the direction Walt wanted to take the film. The end result produced a movie that was almost nominated for a Best Picture Academy Award (years before Beauty & The Beast took that honor) and holds a special place in the hearts of Disney fans everywhere.
The studio painstakingly polished up the film for this blu-ray release. It remastered it into ABC 1.75:1 with a 1080p encode. The artist’s scratchy line drawings really come through in the new transfer. The painted backgrounds shine throughout and are really art works of their own. Even the sound got an upgrade to include some surround sound. All-in-all it’s the best this movie has looked in over 45 years.
The new release keeps many of the original DVD extras. Disney has started doing this thing where they release the digital download versions of a movie, a few weeks before the physical DVD comes out. That’s the case with Marvel’s THOR: The Dark World, which is available now in 3D and HD Digital! The 3D Combo Pack (3D Blu-ray™, 2D Blu-ray, Digital Copy), Single-Disc Blu-ray, DVD are still available for pre-order for a February 25th, 2014 date.
To get everyone excited, Disney and Marvel have put together some new clips and a trailer. I like this one full of bloopers and featuring Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth and Jaimie Alexander:
