It’s a big moment in the film, Cinderella’s first dance with the Prince. Clearly they’re all watching The Prince right? What did you think? The costumes still blow me away. Sandy Powell is a costuming genius. Previously: Cinderella meets her future Stepmother clip.

A little rain could not dampen the spirits of Disney’s Cinderella world premiere last night. Just like at the Oscars the El Capitan erected a big tent to cover the stat studded red carpet and the show went on as planned.
Many of the guests came dressed for a ball of Cinderella proportions too. Lily James, who plays the title character, looked stunning in her dress. Holliday Grainger and Sophie McShera held up their end of the deal as the step-sisters as well. Plus Cate Blanchett looks fantastic as always.

Disney’s live action Cinderella promises to be a wonderful remake of the classic animated fairy tale we’re all familiar with. From those who have already seen the film, we hear that Cate Blanchett makes a wonderfully wicked stepmother, in fact, her grand entrance is a real piece of work.
Watch what happens with Cinderella meets Lady Tremaine, her future stepmother, for the first time.
Yes, that’s a cat on a leash. Cinderella dances into theaters March 13th.
A dream is a wish your heart makes, but a movie needs a great sound track to make dreams come true. Disney’s Cinderella will have an official soundtrack album released by Walt Disney Records on March 10, 2015. The album features original music by Patrick Doyle (“Brave,” “Thor”) marking the eleventh time Doyle has teamed with director Kenneth Branagh. The score was recorded at Air Lyndhurst Studio in London, and was performed by the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by James Shearman and produced by Maggie Rodford.
Doyle has scored over 50 international feature films, including “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” “Gosford Park,” “Sense and Sensibility,” “Indochine,” “Carlito’s Way” and “A Little Princess.” His work has led to collaborations with some of the most acclaimed directors in the world, including Regis Wargnier, Brian De Palma, Alfonso Cuarón, Ang Lee, Chen Kaige, Mike Newell and Robert Altman.
In addition to the score, the soundtrack also includes end credit tracks by Lily James (“Cinderella”) and Helena Bonham Carter (“Fairy Godmother”), plus the end credit original theme song “Strong” (written by Patrick Doyle, Kenneth Branagh and Tommy Danvers) performed by Compound/Motown recording artist Sonna Rele and produced by TommyD (Kylie, Kanye West, Corinne Bailey Rae, FUN). Sonna, the London born singer-songwriter, was discovered by multi Grammy-Award winning singer-songwriter/ actor NE-YO and chosen by Kenneth Branagh to record “Strong.” The album was produced by Patrick Doyle and executive produced by Kenneth Branagh.

In case you missed them, here are the most visited stories of the week on The Disney Blog.
We had two major construction updates last week.
First we looked at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which added 11 new animal ‘carvings’ to the roots area of the Tree of Life. It makes for a great new photo spot. Much of the park is behind construction walls as they prepare to add two new nighttime shows, a water show called “Rivers of Light” and a street spectacular that does not yet have a name, on Discovery Island. Our second update includes looks at those two projects along with some smaller changes.
Disney Springs transformation was the focus of our second construction update. While the parking garage is not fully open, the new spot-finder lights are working. Additionally, construction on the Landing is moving fast with some shops open and many more getting close. Of course, there’s still a long way to go. Marketplace Co-op also added custom mobile cases sizes including the Galaxy S5 (my phone, yeah!).
The fairy-tale of Disney’s Cinderella promises to be a visual feast for the eyes, the two trailers already make that clear. The actors are chewing up the scenery, and the set design is very detailed, but for me, the real winner so far are the… Read More »The costumes of Disney’s Cinderella
