Disney Entertainment Earns 163 Nominations for the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards

Nominations were announced this morning (July 12, 2023) for the 75th Primetime Emmy® Awards, and Disney Entertainment received 163 nominations across its content brands and studios.

These include ABC, ABC News Studios, Disney Branded Television, Disney+, Disney Television Studios (20th Television Animation, 20th Television, and ABC Signature), FX, FX Productions, Hulu, National Geographic, Onyx Collective, Searchlight Pictures, Searchlight Television, and Walt Disney Studios (20th Century Studios, Lucasfilm Ltd., and Marvel Studios).

Disney’s streaming platforms alone earned a total of 73 nominations, with Disney+ and Hulu receiving 40 and 33 nominations, respectively.


Breaking down the nominations by show, FX’s “The Bear” led the Disney roster with 13, while Hulu’s “Only Murders In The Building” received 11 nominations, and Disney+ series “The Mandalorian” received 9.

ABC powerhouse “Abbott Elementary,” and Disney+ series “Andor” tied for 8 nominations each, while FX’s “Fleishman Is In Trouble” received 7 nods.

Also receiving multiple nominations were Hulu’s “Prey” and FX’s “Welcome to Wrexham” with six a piece; Disney+ series “Obi-Wan Kenobi” and Hulu’s “Welcome to Chippendales” with five each; and Disney+ musical special “Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl,” ABC’s broadcast of “The Oscars,” and FX’s “What We Do in the Shadows” with four nominations each.

Shows with three each were several Disney+ entries: “Dancing With the Stars,” “Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium,” “Hocus Pocus 2,” and “Ms. Marvel,” along with Hulu’s “How I Met Your Father” and “The 1619 Project,” ABC’s “Jeopardy!,” and National Geographic’s “The Territory.”

Rounding out the multiple nominations with two each were: ABC’s “American Idol,” “Beauty And The Beast: A 30th Celebration,” “Family Feud,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and “Wheel of Fortune,” along with Hulu’s “History Of The World, Part II,” “Fire Island,” “Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields,” and “Tiny Beautiful Things,” FX’s “The Old Man” and “Dear Mama,” plus National Geographic’s “Secrets of the Elephants” and “Life Below Zero.”

There were also plenty of shows with one nomination each.
