Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building” is back with all new episodes on August 8, and season 3 sets up a new mystery based on the ending of season 2.
The Details
Season 3 finds Charles (Disney Legend Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) investigating a murder behind the scenes of a Broadway show.
Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd) is a Hollywood action star whose Broadway debut is cut short by his untimely death. Aided by co-star Loretta Durkin (Meryl Streep), the trio embarks on their toughest case yet, all while director Oliver desperately attempts to put his show back together.
The Emmy Award®-nominated series returns with two episodes on Tuesday, August 8, with new episodes streaming weekly afterwards on Hulu.
The Trailer
Streep and Rudd are just two of the high-profile guest stars featured in the season three trailer, which also offers a first look at Jesse Williams (Grey’s Anatomy) as documentarian Tobert, and Ashley Park (Emily in Paris) as TikTok-addicted starlet Kimber.
The trailer also reveals the previously unannounced returns of Jane Lynch (as Charles’ former stunt double Sazz Pataki) and Tina Fey (as a very blonde Cinda Canning)…along with Matthew Broderick in an undisclosed role.
“Well, you know, who are we without a homicide?” asks Mabel after Rudd’s unexpected murder.

The Series
“Only Murders in the Building” follows three strangers played by Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, all with a shared interest in true crime podcasts, who team up to investigate a death in the apartment building they all live in.
In the second season, which premiered in June 2022, the trio themselves become suspects in the bloody murder of another building resident.
The series has received numerous accolades, and it received 11 Emmy nominations for this year’s awards.
