Disney went into the 2023 Critics Choice Awards with 23 film nominations and 39 TV nominations, and ended up with 8 total wins in the 41 categories announced during last night’s ceremony.
Marvel’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” was the big winner on the film side with two wins, and actress Angela Bassett continues her winning streak for her role of Queen Ramonda.
Surprisingly, Searchlight Pictures’ “The Banshees of Inisherin,” which was favored with nine nominations going into the night, was completely shut out.
And “Avatar: The Way of Water,” which had six nominations, only received one win.
In the TV categories, ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” and Hulu’s “The Dropout” walked away with two wins each, while Jeremy Allen White of FX’s “The Bear” continues to win acting awards for his role.
