Disney Ruled 2022’s Box Office Worldwide With $4.9 Billion

Disney Ruled 2022's Box Office Worldwide

The numbers are in, and The Walt Disney Company and its studios have claimed the Number One spot on the 2022’s box office totals chart with a worldwide total of $4.9 billion for all of its theatrical films released in 2022.

The Breakdown

That $4.9 billion breaks down into a domestic total of $2 billion and an international total of $2.9 billion, which is amazing since only three of its releases played in China, which used to offer big international box office numbers.

Disney’s studios include Walt Disney Pictures, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Lucasfilm, Marvel Studios, Searchlight Pictures, and 20th Century Studios.

The second ranked Universal brought in $1 billion less worldwide with its 2022 titles.

It’s also the 7th consecutive year that Disney has been No. 1 at the global box office since 2016.

According to Box Office Mojo, Disney made that total based off of the box office totals of 16 films, and four of those films took spots in the top ten films of the year.
