Christmas in July came with the announcement of Cruella as the next villain to be featured in Serena Valentino’s Disney villains novels.
And now regular Christmas has come early with the cover reveal of Cruella’s story, Evil Thing.
With artwork by the talented Jeffrey Thomas, who is responsible for all the impressive Valentino villains covers to date, hopes were high – and fans were not disappointed: “He sure did an amazing job! It’s awesome!” and “Totally fantastic cover!” are but a couple of the applauding comments that followed the reveal on social media.
Serena herself stated: “This is my favorite cover so far! I’m so pleased! And so excited to share her story with all of you next summer!”
Cruella’s story will be the seventh treacherous tale in the Valentino villains series and the book is currently set for release on July 7, 2020. Fans know that previous villains covers have featured one image on the dust jacket and a different image on the hard cover (underneath the dust jacket). It is unclear at this stage whether or not Cruella’s hard cover image will be different from the dust jacket and whether or not it will be revealed prior to the book’s release.
The release of Evil Thing follows Valentino’s sixth villains novel – The Odd Sisters – which marked the first of the villains novels to put Valentino’s original characters in the spotlight.
