American Idol begins filming Showcase Rounds at Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii

American Idol Aulani

Last month it turned out that last season’s American Idol winner just happened to be staying at Disney’s Aulani resort in Hawaii when the announcement was made that the show would be filming from the vacation paradise in its next season. Guess what? They’re there now.

A photo from January 28 was shared today. It features music industry legends and all-star judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, along with Emmy-winning producer and host Ryan Seacrest and official Idol in house mentor Bobby Bones. Together they are continuing the search for the next superstar during the series’ iconic showcase rounds at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaii. They were joined in celebration of the show by the one and only Minnie Mouse.

“American Idol” returns to the ABC network for its second season on Sunday, March 3 (8 – 10 p.m. EST), after first making its return to airwaves as the No. 1 reality show launch for its inaugural season on the network during the 2017-2018 season.
