The annual Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is finally upon us, and there’s plenty of new merchandise and memorabilia to stock up on while you’re there, including t-shirts, designer bags, Vinylmation figurines, and brand new New Balance shoes.

First up are the t-shirts, which are a yearly favorite. This year’s selection will include “I Did It” tees with a course map on the back, as well as a “Coast to Coast Challenge” variety.

New T-shirts and More Arrive at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Of the four major theme parks at Walt Disney World, Disney’s Animal Kingdom usually has the most stable product assortment. The same T-shirts (“Is that you Tigger?” and cuddly stuff animals sell over and over again. That’s not to say there isn’t great merchandise there is. Most of it can be found in Harambe Village’s Mombasa Marketplace.

So here are a few of the new (to me at least) T-sheets that I think will be flying off the shelf. This one you wouldn’t know was a Disney T-Shirt if you didn’t know where you bought it. But that’s ok. You know and that’s all that matters.

Disney-wear: New Shirts at Downtown Disney

Please make it stop!

Dropped in on Downtown Disney the other day to check in on construction progress. Turns out not so much. But I did spot some fun new t-shirts with a pocket, a great set of winter sweaters (I know it’s only August, but it will get cooler soon), and more.

I promise to have more from Downtown Disney soon, but in the meantime, here’s the latest Disney-Wear for you to enjoy.

Downtown Disney Construction Update

00-dtd-comedy-club-1

Construction on the Disney Springs transformation of Downtown Disney is now underway in earnest. Get ready for a maze of walls, some extra time to get to your destination from the parking lot, and the occasional interruption from construction crews. Fans of Pleasure Island may want to take one last trip to pose in front of the remaining signs and buildings. I’m sure some elements will eventually end up on ebay too.

So without any further ado, here are the photos from my walkabout yesterday:

Merchandise Find of the Week: Princess Shoe Ornament and Pajamas

shoes-ornaments-1

If I bought every item of merchandise that caught my attention in the last few years, I’d not only be broke, but would be buried up to my neck in hats, t-shirts, and Christmas ornaments. Disney World’s team in merchandise design has done an amazing job with all manner of wearable and collectible fun. Here’s one of the newest lines of merchandise that I think has some great potential.

Not only are there a baker’s dozen of Disney princess and villain themed Christmas ornaments in the shape of high heels, but there is a pajama/louge-wear outfit that highlights those same shoes.Read More »Merchandise Find of the Week: Princess Shoe Ornament and Pajamas

Disney releases new Downtown Disney Ads while Disney Springs Construction Begins

These gates aren't long for the world. Probably end up in some collectors living room soon

These gates aren’t long for the world. Probably end up in some collectors living room soon

Construction on Disney Springs, the new vision for Downtown Disney, got underway earlier this month. It’s going to be a few years before the whole project is done and current vendors in the shopping center are in for an uncertain time. Will crowds continue to come if they have to negotiate a maze of construction walls and relocated parking to get there? Probably yes, but just in case, Disney World has launched a new ad campaign with the goal of keeping Downtown Disney front of mind in locals and tourists alike.
