The full Ant-Man trailer has finally dropped and as a comic fan I’m not entirely sure what to think. Don’t get me wrong, I am excited. I just have a few reservations.
First off lets start with a little synopsis. The four main characters, that we know of, are Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), and Darren Cross (Corey Stoll). Hank Pym recruits master thief Scott Lang to pull off a heist that will save the world.
Hank Pym is the original Ant-Man from the comics. He discovered the Pym Particles, created Ultron, and helped found the Avengers. While publicly he was a hero, he was not the nicest person privately. He was known to beat his wife, Janet Van Dyne the Wasp, and has been described as bipolar.
Scott Lang is the second Ant-Man. Starting out as an electronics expert, he wasn’t able to support his family and resulted to burglary. His desperation was based around his providing for his sick daughter. He decides to break into Hank Pym’s house where he steals the Ant-Man suit and breaks into Cross Technological Enterprises. Which is owned by Darren Cross.
Hope Van Dyne, who in the comics is Hope Pym, is the daughter of Hank and Janet. She actually becomes a villain when she views the current Avengers are disgracing the things her parents built. She also felt that she should be the one to carry the Ant-Man legacy.Read More »Breaking down the Marvel Ant-Man Trailer

Kevin Costner is a cross-country coach in the small economically depressed Central California town of McFarland. That’s the Hollywood one-line pitch, now here’s there trailer:
Disney has done a pretty good job with its small budget, big heart ‘Brand Equity’ films and McFarland looks to follow in a similar vein.

Now that we’ve had a few moments to digest the first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and get ‘the feels’ out of the way, it’s time for a deeper look at what we see in our first glimpse of the Star Wars universe as brought to you by J.J. Abrams and team. If there’s one thing this trailer does, is it alleviates your fears. No, J.J. Abrams isn’t going to cram a million lens flares into every frame like he did with the Star Trek series. In fact, it is very much in keeping with the cinematography of the original trilogy.
In fact, this trailer appears designed to make you forget about the second trilogy (the prequels) entirely. I’d say it just about succeeds. It has the scope and adventure of the original trilogy, it evokes the dirty worn down tech we were used to, and it transports you to an otherworldly and exotic place. By the time we get to the new John Williams score, we’re ready to believe that this is going to be an awesome film.
The narrator appears to be Andy Serkis. While we know he’s been cast, we don’t know quite what character he’s playing in the film, but it might be one of the force wielding bad guys. We see the new look Storm Troopers, very close to the classic look, but just different enough to be amazing and menacing.Read More »Review: Star Wars – The Force Awakens Teaser Trailer
Ahoy: we’re talking rumors here, so spoilers ahead and your mileage may vary. Don’t say you weren’t warned.
JJ Abrams on Tatooine?
Star Wars: VII got its official subtitle last week, say hi to Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Unfortunately, this title does very little in revealing or confirming any major story details. Regardless, there are one or two rumors that have begun to float to the top as the most likely.
It is said that The Force Awakens will take place approximately 30 years after Return of the Jedi. The battle since then has not been an easy one. The empire did not simply fall with the Emperor but instead drew out their fall into a long and bloody conflict.
To start off, it is pretty likely that the film will take place on Tatooine for a bit. From the Star Wars charity segments, we see J.J. Abrams against a desert city backdrop that looks a lot like Tatooine.
The plot is rumored to focus on a young junk scavenger rumored to be named Kira (Daisy Ridley) and a currently nameless Storm Trooper (John Boyega), will call him Troop for now. It seems Kira will rescue Troop after he crash lands near her home, which is possibly an abandoned AT-AT, awesome I know.
Kira somehow comes into possession of strange object, a lightsaber. Exactly how is still unclear, some sources say an alien brings it to her and other’s say she comes across it in a severed hand. After bringing it to an old cyborg (Max Von Sydow), who is old enough to have been present during the clone wars. He recognizes it as a Jedi’s signature weapon and sends them both to some old friends who might be able to help. Rumors are divisive at best as to the cyborg’s allegiances. It is unclear so far what side he fought on and what his intentions are now. Regardless, his actions will most likely somehow point Kira and Trooper towards Han Solo.
Enter Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) who might be a little worse for wear. Rumors about these two state that they no longer own the Millenium Falcon which Oscar Isaac now has. No worries though, we know from leaked set photos that the Millenium Falcon will make an appearance. Han either recognizes it as Luke’s old lightsaber or knows that Luke is the only one that can shed some light. Regardless, this encourages the group to seek out Luke.Read More »Star Wars Episode VII Rumor Roundup
