Marvel announced today that Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD Season One will be released on Blu-Ray and DVD on September 9 and, along with all 22 episodes of the season, it is jam packed with special features. Pre-order it today via Amazon.
The Assembling the Universe special that aired earlier this year, a special look at the first appearance of AoS at the San Diego Comic-Con as well as five behind the scenes featurettes for favorite scenes from the show:
Special features also include a visual effects breakdown, episode commentaries, deleted scenes and a gag reel.
August 19 sees the digital release of Captain America: Winter Solider on Digital 3D, Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere. The movie will be released on Blu-ray and DVD alongside Agents of SHIELD on September 9.

On Friday, May 23, Marvel Studios and director/writer Edgar Wright announced that they had parted ways amicably over the vision of the upcoming Marvel movie “Ant-Man.”
The official release from Marvel reads:
“Marvel and Edgar Wright jointly announced today that the studio and director have parted ways on “Ant-Man” due to differences in their vision of the film. The decision to move on is amicable and does not impact the release date on July 17, 2015. A new director will be announced shortly.”
Dropping news like this, on the eve of a holiday weekend, one can only think the studio wanted the news to not be as noticed, but the fan backlash has already started. Many were excited to see his treatment of the character and are upset he is no longer involved.

The second trailer for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy was released exclusively on Facebook today. A practice I deplore because, I don’t find Facebook to be that reliable when it comes to embeds functioning cross-platform. Disney and Marvel are starting to pump up the excitement ahead of their August film “Guardians of the Galaxy” with a new teaser trailer and a poster that might remind you of some other outer space film.
