A second trailer for Age of Ultron was just released! Unfortunately it is severely lacking in any form of substantial new footage. We do see a little more of what is most likely the battle with Baron Von Struckers forces in the beginning of the… Read More »Avengers: Age of Ultron – Trailer 2

This week, Marvel shook the internet by announcing all of their Phase 3 films. What exactly does this mean?
First, Ant-man is officially a part of Phase 2. From what we have heard, Ant-man will largely be a flashback. Meaning the events of the film will take place sometime earlier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. My guess, is since the synopsis for Age of Ultron states that Tony Stark is resurrecting a past peacekeeping program, that this program will still be somehow tied to Ant-man. Essentially, I expect two origin stories, one for Ant-man and one for Ultron.
From the extended trailer we see the whole group of Avengers at a little party, celebrating something. My guess is a recent victory over Baron Von Strucker, the villain at the end of Winter Soldier and the apparent success of the Ultron program. Of course, Ultron crashes the party revealing his sinister intentions.
This leaked clip from the Marvel Event, hopefully you can still see it, shows the growing friction between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark. This is obviously the beginnings of Civil War, which we will see played out in Captain America 3. Civil War is so far promising new Avengers brought in by Steve Rogers which will bolster the roster for Infinity War pt 1.
What is also interesting about the leaked clip is the reference to Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximof) showing them all something, such as their worst fears. This causes Thor to go off somewhere to check something. I think that what he saw is the Ragnarok event which is basically the end of Asgard. These head games could also be the cause of Hulk’s battle with Tony after he is shown something that causes him to rage against the world.Read More »Digging into Marvel’s Phase 3 Films Announcement
In the midst of Marvel’s huge news on Tuesday, let’s not forget that we also got our weekly dose of Coulson and his team.
This week, a group of men claiming to be S.H.I.E.L.D. crash a U.N. meeting, killing some of the dignitaries and security guards with new versions of the diviner weapon. Because the attackers claimed to be S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, the U.S. government has to step in, including Senator Christian Ward, brother of Grant Ward.
Senator Ward wants nothing more than to see the remaining remnant of S.H.I.E.L.D. be disbanded permanently and will stop at nothing to see it done. Coulson arranges a meeting with the Senator and makes a deal with him. He will turn the Senator’s brother over in exchange for not bringing down S.H.I.E.L.D. Skye goes down to the basement to tell Ward the news, but gets him to tell her everything he knows about her father first.
In the meantime, Agents May, Hunter and Morse are sent out to find the men responsible for the attack on the U.N. and the new diviner weapon. Watching Hunter and Morse bicker was almost as fun as watching May and Morse take down the bad guys.
The episode also deals with the reunion of Fitz-Simmons and the realization that Fitz gets worse around Simmons. I am really impressed with Iain De Caestecker’s portyal of Fitz. He continues to be the heart of the show for me.
Here is what we know from the big Marvel even that happened this morning: Avengers: Age of Ultron — May 1, 2015 Ant-Man — July 17, 2015 Captain America: Civil War — May 6, 2016 Doctor Strange — November 4, 2016 Guardians of the Galaxy… Read More »Marvel Cinematic Universe Issues Release Dates through May 2019
