Typhoon Lagoon

Typhoon Lagoon remains the only part of Disney World closed through yesterday (it is scheduled to open today). Although there has been no official explanation that I could find, there is speculation that one of the reasons might be the theming. Typhoon Lagoon is themed to look like an island that has just been hit… Read More »Typhoon Lagoon

Hurricane Blogging

Here’s another well written blog by someone in Celebration, FL (do you have to pass a written test to live there?). Erica posts about her experience as Charley passed over head. Some pictures in their photo gallery too.

Disney Magic Music Days

One of the many things that Disney does right is the Disney Magic Music Days program. The program is a chance for children to perform at a Disney themepark, get a discount on admission and sometimes lodging, and learn a little about what it means to be a paid performer. Disney World open Saturday?

I’m getting a lot of searches wondering if Disney World, and other Orlando Themeparks will be open on Saturday following Hurricane Charley’s visit. I’ve heard from people who live near the Disney World resort (located southwest of Orlando) and they reported that the eye of the storm passed to the East of the Disney owned… Read More »Disney World open Saturday?

Orlando Updates

The Orlando Sentinel is running a ‘weblog‘ of updates as Hurricane Charley bares down on Central Florida. Although the path is currently unpredictable, it looks to hit Orlando dead on. Winds are still above 140 MPH even after making landfall. Best wishes for an injury free and property damage free night for all.
