The Croissant Doughnut (aka Cronut) is a recent addition to the list of delicious treats at EPCOT. It reminds me very much of the Beaver Tails (I knew them as Elephant Ears growing up in PDX) they used to serve in Canada, only shaped like… Read More »Finally getting to the Cronut at EPCOT

The final fireworks shell exploding in Illuminations: Reflections of Earth usually signals the mass exodus of guests from EPCOT. But what if, instead of fighting with the masses you could duck inside one of your favorite EPCOT eateries and enjoy a drink and a few… Read More »Wind Down Your Day at EPCOT with New After-Hours Dining Option

Disney’s particular brand of magic does not usually require augmentation with spirits, unless you’re at the Haunted Mansion, but when I dine out at a nice restaurant like Disney’s California Grill, I do enjoy a glass of wine or a well-crafted cocktail with my meal.… Read More »Exploring California Grill’s New Beverage Menu
I’m a big fan of the food truck scene here in Central Florida. That’s my current favorite truck above! Downtown Disney has experimented off and on with adding a food truck to the lineup with mixed results. For a couple of months, there’s a been… Read More »New Food Trucks coming to Downtown Disney Orlando
The Starbucks sponsored Main Street Bakery has opened at the Magic Kingdom. For some it’s a blessing to have ‘real’ coffee available in the parks, for others, its an intrusion of the outside world into the magic. The final execution is a very high capacity, smoothly run Starbucks with a few Disney touches added to make it just magical enough.
There is not as much merchandise as at a regular Starbucks, indeed hardly any beyond bags of coffee, but you’ll find all the coffee, tea, and other drinks you’ve come to love at your local Starbucks. Although we were led to believe that much of the old menu would transfer to the new location, the baked goods are mostly what you would find in a regular Starbucks. The egg and cheese croissant and super large cinnamon roll are both absent to name a few. Disney is apparently looking for new homes for the cinnamon roll, but in the meantime you can find it in Gaston’s in New Fantasyland.
The use of the Starbucks logo is tasteful – not overpowering, but not absent either. Disney has created a backstory complete with ‘grand opening’ photos and a collection of coffee paraphernalia from the owner’s trip around the world collecting photographs and unique items from different societies and their coffee habits. That backstory also includes the use of Starbucks original two-finned mermaid figure (modified slightly for Disney audiences) and there’s even a couple hidden mermaids scattered around the store.Read More »Starbucks Sponsored Main Street Bakery Opens at Magic Kingdom
Ocean Spray is flexing its sponsorship muscles with it’s culinary relationship with Disney and the result are some holiday dishes worth sharing. Cranberries have been a staple on holiday tables for more than 300 years. Of course, the Walt Disney World Resort chefs, helped Ocean Spray add some special Disney flare too!
“Cranberries are exceptional any time of year and pair well with just about everything,” said Larry Martin, vice president of global marketing at Ocean Spray. “By collaborating with Walt Disney World Resort and their talented chefs, we’re able to showcase a variety of festive dishes throughout the Disney property to show people how they can use the cranberry to add a dash of color, zing or pop to any holiday meal.”
Okay…. this is a pretty blatant ad for Ocean Spray. But on the off chance you have a few of those free packets of Craisins from the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival hanging around your home, or just like to use cranberries in your holidays meals, I wanted to share these delicious looking recipes. And if you can pull of that Grand Floridian Soufflé, I expect an invitation to dine at your house. :)
