I’m a big fan of the food truck scene here in Central Florida. That’s my current favorite truck above! Downtown Disney has experimented off and on with adding a food truck to the lineup with mixed results. For a couple of months, there’s a been… Read More »New Food Trucks coming to Downtown Disney Orlando
Dropped in on Downtown Disney the other day to check in on construction progress. Turns out not so much. But I did spot some fun new t-shirts with a pocket, a great set of winter sweaters (I know it’s only August, but it will get cooler soon), and more.
I promise to have more from Downtown Disney soon, but in the meantime, here’s the latest Disney-Wear for you to enjoy.
Did Doofenshmirtz keep you from experiencing the Waffle-inator Challenge at the D23 Expo this past weekend, don’t worry. The larger than life interactive game will appear at Disneyland’s Downtown Disney this weekend, Friday through Sunday, August 16 through 18. As you might have guessed, the… Read More »Phineas & Ferb Waffle-inator Challenge At Disneyland Resort this Weekend
Construction on the Disney Springs transformation of Downtown Disney is now underway in earnest. Get ready for a maze of walls, some extra time to get to your destination from the parking lot, and the occasional interruption from construction crews. Fans of Pleasure Island may want to take one last trip to pose in front of the remaining signs and buildings. I’m sure some elements will eventually end up on ebay too.
So without any further ado, here are the photos from my walkabout yesterday:
August at Disneyland is going to be amazing. D23 Expo will be held right across the street and there’s a whole list of merchandise and art events scheduled. Most are at the WonderGround Gallery, but D23 will have an event as well.
August 3-4: Matt Spangler will be on hand at WonderGround Gallery at the Downtown Disney District from 1 – 4 p.m. to showcase some of the latest pieces in his Robot Art collection. From riding motorcycles to dancing, Matt’s robots pretty much do it all. Learn more here.
The first signs of serious construction on the announced Disney Springs makeover of Downtown Disney has begun. Disney recently announced a plan for the limited parking the construction is expected to create and now video of Pleasure Island’s Comedy Warehouse being dismantled was aired on… Read More »Disney Springs Construction Underway in Earnest
Downtown Disney is about to undergo its own extreme makeover into Disney Springs, so June 15-16 may be the last year to really enjoy the great atmosphere of Car Masters Weekend until about 2017. If that’s not a good enough reason to get you out to see the cars, there is always the merchandise, special meet and greets, and the Pixar Cars themed fun. Plus this year they’re throwing in new fun from Splitsville and La Nouba by Cirque du Soliel and more.
Car Masters Weekend, now in its third year, is also the perfect way to celebrate Father’s Day. The Downtown Disney West Side area will be filled with classic cars and special entertainment as only Disney can arrange. Featuring all things “Cars,” the event showcases meet and greets with Disney•Pixar “Cars” and “Cars 2″ characters, a sock hop at Splitsville, select discounts on food and shopping, and more exciting entertainment for the whole family.Read More »Car Masters Weekend Returns to Downtown Disney for 3rd Year of Retro Fun
According to Disney construction was to have officially started on Disney Springs in early May. It’s now mid-month, so I set off to see what visible evidence there was of the pending transformation. Turns out not much. But there is a bit new at Downtown Disney since my last swing through, so I do have something to share with y’all.
Walls have gone up in the former comedy warehouse area of pleasure island.
