Breaking down the Avengers: Age of Ultron Trailer

stark-avengers-ultron

It has arrived! The second trailer for Avengers: Age Of Ultron. While a little short on new details, this trailer did give us some interesting tidbits.

POTENTIAL SPOILERS

To summarize the majority of what we see in the trailer, our heroes will be pit against the world. It seems that they will be facing off against Baron Von Strucker early in the film. My guess is this leads to the protesters that we saw in the first trailer and in this trailer. Obviously it seems the popularity of the Avengers is starting to dip.

This is further confirmed by how Captain America is acting throughout the trailer. I would guess that he gets very upset about this. After all, he came from a time when America was united as one against a common enemy. Now he lives in an age where the good guys could be bad guys and vice versa. With direct opposition from those he is trying to protect, Cap is going to be struggling with the idea he is doing more harm than good.

Stan Lee to cameo in Marvel’s Agent Carter

stan-lee-agent-carter

For Stan Lee’s next Marvel cameo he will travel back in time to 1946 an appear in Agent Carter. He gets around quite a lot for a 92 year old man. But it must be great seeing the characters you had a hand in creating continue living on in media beyond paper and ink.

Here are a couple shots taken of Lee on set.

You’ll have to wait until the January 27th episode to see Stan in action.

Agent Carter Recap – Episodes 1 & 2: “Now is Not The End” and “Bridge and Tunnel”

Agent-Carter-1

After helping Captain America defeat the Red Skull in WWII, what do you do next? That’s the question that Peggy Carter is wrestling with as we meet her again, one year after the events of the first Captain America movie.

She works for the Strategic Scientific Reserve, (think S.H.I.E.L.D. before there was a S.H.I.E.L.D.), but, because she’s a woman, her fellow co-workers treat her more like a secretary than an agent.

News breaks that Howard Stark has been accused of selling his inventions (especially the dangerous ones) on the black market and has become a traitor to the United States.

Stark finds Carter that night to plead his innocence and ask for her help to clear his name. As he sails off into the harbor, Carter meets Edwin Jarvis, Stark’s butler and her new ally. They hit it off swimmingly:

“You’re new to espionage aren’t you?”
“Far from it. Last summer, I caught the cook pocketing the good spoons.”

Before he leaves, Stark tells Carter of a chemical formula that he’s created for molecular nitrate that she needs to get her hands on before the bad guys do.

What follows is a classic spy tale with disguises and cool gadgets as Carter plays double agent, trying to work both for and against the S.S.R. I’ve heard a few people compare the show to Alias and I would have to agree. The things I loved about Alias, I also love about Agent Carter. The end of the first episode would lead us to believe that Peggy isn’t the only one playing both sides.Read More »Agent Carter Recap – Episodes 1 & 2: “Now is Not The End” and “Bridge and Tunnel”

Guardians-of-the-Galaxy-Star-Lord-and-Drax-gotg

We’re just a few days away from the official shipping date of Guardians of the Galaxy DVD/Blu-Ray. Marvel’s been slow-dripping previews of some of the special features. My favorite is this “Dance Off” from the bloopers section of the Blu-Ray.

You can still pre-order Guardians of the Galaxy on Blu-Ray or DVD for delivery on December 9th. Order today and save up to 50%!

Since Marvel’s big announcement of their Phase 3 line up, news has been scarce, though lately, it’s picking back up.

On the big screen, Frank Grillo, who played Brock Rumlow a.k.a. Crossbones in Captain America: Winter Soldier recently teased his appearance in the next Captain America movie.

“Winter Soldier was only a taste of what’s to come with the next film, and I couldn’t be more humbled and excited,” Grillo said. “They just kind of called and said, ‘What kind of shape are you in? We’re going to need a body scan.’ They scan your body so that whatever you wear fits you like a glove…. We all know what Crossbones represents in his world, so when they called me and said we gotta do the body scan, I was like ‘Okay!’”

In case you don’t know what Crossbones represents in this world: in the comics, he assassinated Captain America at the end of Marvel’s Civil War and since that happens to be the subtitle of the next Cap film, I think we’re starting to see what direction it might go.Read More »Marvel News Roundup – a strange new world
