To the delight of Beliebers everywhere, the night began with a performance of “Never Say Never” by Justin Bieber. Then, Carson (yay!) returned to talk to some fans and the judges. This week’s encore dance was awarded to Team Paso, who gave us another fabulous… Read More »Dancing With the Stars Week 7 Results Show – No Treats for David
Congrats to Iraq War Veteran and “Dancing with the Stars” contestant J.R. Martinez who will be riding down Colorado Boulevard and tossing the Rose Bowl Coin on January 2, 2012 as the Grand Marshal for the Pasadena Tournament of Roses. Martinez will serve in honor of all wounded servicemen and servicewomen. The tournament theme this year is “Just Imagine…”, which fits well with Martinez’ experience on DWTS. He is definitely encouraging people to reach higher and try harder.
“When I was first asked to be Grand Marshal of the Tournament of Roses festivities by President Jackson, I was speechless,” said Martinez. “To be able to participate in this iconic American tradition on New Year’s Day is something I could only imagine. I believe everything happens for a reason and I’m grateful the events of my life have provided me with the opportunity to share my message of hope and possibility on New Year’s Day.”
“J.R. Martinez is an inspiration to us all and a natural fit for our theme ‘Just Imagine…,’” said Rick Jackson, president of the Tournament of Roses. “J.R. is not only a courageous and engaging role model for us all but has dedicated himself to helping not only servicemen and servicewomen, but all Americans facing challenges. His outlook on life is admirable and we couldn’t be happier to have the chance to celebrate the New Year with him as we entertain the millions of fans around the world during the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game.”
Week 7 of the Dancing With the Stars brought us a Halloween special complete with special effects, themed dances, and elaborate makeup and costumes on the dancers, hosts, judges, and even the band members.
To start the night, David and Kym performed a cha cha (complete with magic tricks) to “Abracadabra” by Steve Miller Band. David is still working hard, but taking plenty of time to let his goofy side out. Len said his dance provided lots of tricks and lots of treats, Bruno shouted some inscrutable praise, and Carrie Ann was impressed with David’s phenomenal improvement. Triple 8s gave the pair a 24.
J.R. and Karina tangoed to the theme from “Ghostbusters.” Karina was undoubtedly the sexiest ghost I’ve ever seen, and J.R. was a crowd-pleaser as usual. Bruno said the performance was solid, even though J.R. lost his timing a little bit. Carrie Ann loved the tone of the dance, but Len thought that it was substandard compared to J.R.’s previous weeks. The pair scored a 25 (9, 8, 8).
Only on a show like Revenge would a woman fall several feet onto a taxi and SURVIVE.
Yes, you heard me. Lydia is not dead. She’s in a coma.
I’m as shocked as you are, believe me.
This week, luckily, we caught a reprieve after the constant action from the last episode. Yet again, Emily zeroing in on one person and surprising us with her super powers doesn’t happen. Instead, Emily is dealing with the aftermath of Lydia’s fall and what this could mean for her entire game plan. Nolan shows Emily the webcam, and they decide that Frank is the one they have to get rid of now. Nolan emails the video to Conrad who takes the bait, and immediately jumps into action.
After lots of anticipation and hype, ABC’s “Once Upon a Time” premiered last night. The show was created by two writers from “Lost,” and already there were several connections between the two series. (The clock in “Once Upon a Time” is stuck at 8:15, the… Read More »Once Upon a Time – Season 1, Episode 1
Editors Note: If you haven’t been watching ABC’s newest hit show Revenge, why not give it a try. Estelle catches you up with the events of the latest show and brings you up to speed so you can join in next week.
Spoilers with a capital S.
You know that one moment when everything changes?
Well, Revenge’s moment occurred this past Wednesday evening when Lydia’s dead body was found in a glittery dress on top of a taxi. (Why they felt the need to show her face and then have a flashback when the whole show is a flashback at the moment anyway is beyond me.)
Our first true casualty.
And no, Emily didn’t do it. In fact, this may be the first episode that takes place a day after the last one. This time there is no one person that Emily is after; instead, everyone is still dealing with the repercussions of the night before: Dr. Banks’ kidnapping and release, secrets revealed, and the possibility that Emily could get framed for once.
The results show began with Val and Peta and two troupe members dancing to the classic Madonna hits, “Like a Virgin” and “Like a Prayer.” Excuse me for a second while I count my rubber Madonna bracelets. The evening’s first results revealed that Ricki and… Read More »Dancing With the Stars, Week 5 Elimination – So Long, Sparkles
Editor: Alas, Charlie’s Angels has been cancelled by ABC. The network will burn the rest of the episodes in the can, but I guess the world wasn’t ready for this reboot. I want to thank Marshal for his thankless job recapping the show. This will… Read More »Charlie’s Angels Go To Jail, Do Not Pass Go
