On April 18, 2024, The MICHELIN Guide held its Florida awards, recognizing excellence in dining in Orlando, Tampa, and Miami, and Walt Disney World’s Victoria & Albert’s restaurant was recognized twice during the ceremony.

One Star

Victoria & Albert’s was awarded a MICHELIN Star, recognizing the restaurant’s excellence, which is quite an acheivement.

In doing so, MICHELIN said of the restaurant:

“Nestled within Disney’s crown jewel, the Grand Floridian Resort, this restaurant is by no means an easy reservation, but the reward is a kind of magic rarely seen these days.

The setting is intimate, and the pacing is that of a leisurely, three-hour waltz orchestrated by a gracious brigade of veteran servers.

.

Chef Matthew Sowers cooks with contemporary verve and draws on influences spanning from Asia to the Nordics. Think delicate tarts set with New Zealand langoustine, striking “sandwiches” made with venison carpaccio and red cabbage, and bold sauces like cherry-cola bordelaise.

Other details like water lists, an ornate coffee and tea service, and a serious wine program further impress.”

Service

Maître d’Hôtel Israel Perez of Victoria & Albert’s was also recognized as the MICHELIN Guide Florida 2024 Service Award Winner.

MICHELIN said of Perez: “To many people, ‘really good service’ might mean picking up a fork the second it falls or making sure silverware is spotless. For Perez, however, really good service means knowledge, warmth, and hospitality.”

High praise indeed!

The Restaurant

Victoria & Albert’s, located at the Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, has long been a crown dining jewel at Walt Disney World.

In July 2022, the restaurant reopened after a lengthy refurbishment that included revamped interiors and an updated menu.

Earlier this year, the restaurant reclaimed its Forbes Travel Five-Star rating, and now, they have a prestigious MIChELIN One-Star rating.

So, I guess if you’re wondering if a dine at Victoria & Albert’s is worth the splurge, MIChELIN says yes.

Congratulations to the team at Victoria & Albert’s for their recognitions!
