The 2024 Lunar New Year Festival is returning to Disneyland’s Disney California Adventure Park starting January 23, to celebrate Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese cultures, so it’s only natural the festival would feature appearances by beloved Asian Disney characters, like Mushu, and just announced characters from Pixar’s “Turning Red.”

The Details

The mother/daughter team of Ming Lee and Meilin “Mei” Lee from “Turning Red” will be available for guests to meet starting January 23 through the end of the festival.

Guests can expect to find Meilin and mom Ming at the pathway between Grizzly Peak and Paradise Gardens Park inside Disney California Adventure.

Also new this year, “World of Color – One” will have a special pre-show during the festival, called “Hurry Home – A Lunar New Year Celebration.”

It is set to a musical score by Academy Award-winning composer Tan Dun, and it tells the story of a little lantern’s quest to reunite with family for the annual celebration of good luck and fortune.
