Disneyland Resort has announced that not only will its “World of Color-One” show reopen from refurbishment early, but it will have a new preshow addition to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
The Details
“World of Color-One” will still close for refurbishment on Monday, January 8, 2024, but instead of the projected reopening date of February 29, the show will open several weeks early on January 19, 2024.
Then to celebrate the Lunar New Year, it will be preceded by the nighttime water show “Hurry Home – A Lunar New Year Celebration” from January 23 through February 18.
Disney says ‘Hurry Home – A Lunar New Year Celebration’ is set to a musical score by Academy Award-winning composer Tan Dun, and it tells the story of a little lantern’s quest to reunite with family for the annual celebration of good luck and fortune.
The Lunar New Year celebration at Disney California Adventure Park is a joyous tribute to Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cultures.
The multicultural celebration rings in the Year of the Dragon with Asian-inspired food and beverages, vibrant décor and Mushu leading the way in “Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession.”
And now “World of Color-One” will be a part of the celebration.
