Disney+ released a new trailer over the weekend for the upcoming Star Wars series, “Ahsoka,” and it finally teases Hayden Christensen returning as Anakin Skywalker.

Initial reports of the “Ahsoka” series had actor Hayden Christensen returning as Anakin Skywalker for this show, but up until now, none of the trailers had shown the character.
This new trailer not only features an image of Anakin, but new dialogue by Christensen.
“In this war, you will face more than just droids,” he says following images of Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson) battling Sith Lord Baylan (Ray Stevenson). “As your master, it is my responsibility to prepare you.”

The Series
“Star Wars: Ahsoka” is set in roughly the same time frame after the fall of the Empire (which happened in “Return of the Jedi”) as “The Mandalorian.”
It is set to debut on Disney+ on August 23, 2023, with the first two episodes. Weekly single episodes will follow.
This new Star Wars series stars actress Rosario Dawson as former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano, who is of the Togruta species. She evolved from a headstrong padawan student of Anakin Skywalker to become a formidable warrior and leader.
The character will be joined by her “Star Wars: Rebels” crew: Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi), and everyone’s favorite grumpy droid, Chopper.
Also appearing in the series are Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly), Sith Lord adversary Baylan Skoll (Stevenson, who sadly passed after filming), his acolyte Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno), Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen), and the ancient droid Huyang (voiced by David Tennant).
The series is written by Dave Filoni, who executive produces alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Karen Gilchrist serves as a co-executive producer.
The list of directors for the eight episode first season includes Dave Filoni, Steph Green (“Watchmen”), Peter Ramsey (“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” “The Mandalorian”), Jennifer Getzinger (“Westworld,” “Jessica Jones”), Geeta Patel (“House of the Dragon”) and Rick Famuyiwa (“The Mandalorian”).
