Hayden Christensen To Reprise Anakin Skywalker Role For Disney+ Series ‘Ahsoka’

Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker

Actor Hayden Christensen will once again play Anakin Skywalker for the upcoming Disney+ Star Wars series Ahsoka.

The character of Ahsoka Tano is the padawan (apprentice) of Skywalker, but the series is actually set five years after the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, where Skywalker/Vader died.

This means Anakin will have to be shown in flashbacks, or possibly as a Force spirit (as he was at the end of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi), or even a combination of both.

Actress Rosario Dawson will once again play Ahsoka in the series, having debuted in the role in season 2 of the Disney+ series The Mandalorian.

Plot details are being kept secret, but I’ve heard Star Wars veteran Dave Filoni is writing the series and exec producing with Jon Favreau (The Mandalorian), which bodes well for the show.

Production is slated to begin early next year, and there are rumors there will be a crossover episode with The Mandalorian season 3.

Christensen first played Anakin Skywalker in 2002’s Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and 2005’s Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

He is also returning for the upcoming Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi, the live-action series starring Ewan McGregor in the title role.

The story will be set ten years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, so Christensen will most likely be playing Darth Vader in this series, though he could be Anakin in flashbacks, too.

Your thoughts as to how they’ll work Anakin into Ahsoka?
