Shanghai Disney Resort to Extend ‘AVATAR: EXPLORE PANDORA’ Immersive Exhibition until June 2023

Shanghai Disney Resort has announced it will extend the run of “AVATAR: EXPLORE PANDORA” Immersive Exhibition until June 24, 2023, giving park goers a bit longer to enjoy it.

The Details

Since its opening in September 2022, the exhibit has enjoyed incredible popularity and received overwhelmingly positive feedback from guests.

But due to a combination of the success of “Avatar: The Way of Water” in China, its largest international market, and the COVID closure of the park in November 2022, it was decided to give fans more time to enjoy the exhibit.

About the Exhibit

Locaated in Shanghai Disneyland’s Tomorrowland, “AVATAR: EXPLORE PANDORA” has allowed guests to enjoy the world created for the “Avatar” movies in an immersive way.

As the first “Avatar”-themed touring exhibition inside a Disney park worldwide, the exhibition continues to find both new and longtime fans, offering something for everyone in its innovative storytelling and state-of-the-art technologies, such as:

  • High-tech interactives that include the Amplified Mobility Platform (AMP) suit simulator and the chance to be “Avatarized”.
  • Up-close exploration of Na’vi culture, a rare display of Na’vi village life, weaponry, and other artifacts.
  • A mesmerizing environment of stunning vignettes and projections vividly capturing life on Pandora, complete with to-scale sculpts of exotic extraterrestrial creatures.
  • Life-sized recreations of other-worldly landmarks from the film, particularly the exhibit’s towering six-meter tall centerpiece, the sacred Tree of Voices.
  • Fly with a banshee through the spectacular floating Hallelujah Mountains in an exhilarating motion-sensor game.
  • Encountering an adorable baby banshee carefully handled by a Cast Member.

Book Your Trip

“AVATAR: EXPLORE PANDORA” is included with park admission to Shanghai Disneyland, but it should be noted the park plans to increase ticket prices the day before the exhibition’s current end date in June.

Due to China’s pandemic policies, all Guests at Shanghai Disney Resort are encouraged to wear masks properly at indoor locations, queue lines, crowded outdoor areas, meet Disney characters, and in transportation.
