Shanghai Disneyland to Raise Daily Admission Prices in June 2023

Shanghai Disney Resort

Starting June 23, 2023, Shanghai Disney Resort will adjust its pricing rate for daily admission to Shanghai Disneyland, and we have the new prices.

The Changes

The new definition and rates for the four-tiered pricing structure, labelled as Regular, Regular Plus, Peak and Peak Plus, will be as following:

  • Regular” price of admission to Shanghai Disneyland, covering most of the weekdays and selected weekends, will increase from 435 RMB to 475 RMB
  • Regular Plus” price of admission will cover selected weekends and selected weekdays, and will increase from 545 RMB to 599 RMB
  • Peak” price of admission, which covers most of the days in summer season, selected Chinese statutory holiday periods (including their shoulder days), internationally recognized celebration periods, park special event days, and other peak visitation days, will increase from 659 RMB to 719 RMB
  • Peak Plus” price of admission, covering selected Chinese statutory holiday periods, park special event days, and selected days in summer season, will increase from 769 RMB to at 799 RMB.

1 RMB, or Yuan as its also called, is currently at an exchange rate of 15 cents US. So for the “Regular” ticket, the new price of 475 RMB would be approximately $70.43.

Children aged 3 to 11 years old (or with a height above 1.0 meter and up to 1.4 meters), seniors (60 years old and above), and guests with disabilities (certificate/proof of disability is required) will receive a 25% discount off the above pricing.

Infants (under the age of 3 years old or with a height of 1.0 meter and below) will continue to receive free admission.

One ticket to Shanghai Disneyland provides admission and access to all of the attractions and entertainment at the seven themed lands inside the theme park (except for special services, facilities and events that require a separate charge).

Annual Passes

For now, the price increase will not affect the Shanghai Disneyland annual passes, which are 1699 RMB (approx $252 US) for the Crystal Pass, 2399 RMB (approx. $356 US) for the Sapphire Pass, and 3999 RMB (approx. $593 US) for the Diamond Pass.

All passes include hotel, dining, and shopping discounts, along with a free birthday cake on your birthday, among other perks. I think the US parks need to step up with a free birthday cake for annual passholders…what do you think?

The Park

Shanghai Disney Resort and Disneyland are currently celebrating the Year of the Rabbit and its annual Spring Festival.

Donald’s Dine ‘n Delights, a new Donald Duck-themed restaurant, has also opened this month.

The ticket price increase occurs in advance of the opening of the new “Zootopia”-themed area of the park, which doesn’t have an exact opening date yet.
