As a final burst of Disney synergy for 2022, the New Year’s Eve broadcast of ABC’s “Good Morning America” aired a video update on “The Journey of Water Inspired by Moana” that will be opening at EPCOT in late 2023.

In the video clip, one of the show’s reporters, Danielle Breezy, takes viewers on a ground level tour of the new attraction, which is based on the hit 2016 Disney movie, “Moana.”
Viewers get to see previous artist renderings brought to life within the walk-through attraction, as Breezy is given a hard hat tour by Walt Disney Imagineering’s Reid Ekman, who is Lead Concept Designer on the project.
Ekman says there are several characters from the film hidden throughout the attraction’s design. I spotted the Kakamora in the video.
Also super excited to see Te Fiti brought to life.
He also revealed that not only will “The Journey of Water Inspired by Moana” be visually exciting, but it will also feature music from the film.
Ekman says the overall goal of the attraction is to make the connection between the water and each guest, and there will be several interactive elements built into the walk-through attraction that will engage guests, and make them feel water is worth protecting.
The Video

If you want a sneak peek of your own, the EPCOT monorail to Magic Kingdom passes right by where the attraction is located, near “The Land” and “The Seas with Nemo and Friends.”
