The cast of Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series “Agatha: Coven Of Chaos” has grown by five, and we have all the details on the new additions.
Aubrey Plaza
Actress Aubrey Plaza has been cast in an undisclosed role, but sources say she may be playing the antagonist opposite Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha.
Marvel fans may remember she previously appeared in the Marvel series, “Legion,” that ran on FX for three seasons. Set in an alternate timeline of the X-Men film series, Plaza character started as Lenore “Lenny” Busker, but Amahl Farouk, also known as the supervillain Shadow King, took on her form after her death.
While Disney now owns the rights to the X-Men, and the Shadow King is a multiverse character, it would be odd for Plaza to be playing it again in this series…but it’s not impossible.
Plaza rose to fame in the series “Parks and Recreation,” and is currently starring in HBO’s “The White Lotus” series.
Joe Locke
Actor Joe Locke has been cast in the male lead role on the show, but Marvel is keeping character details under wraps for now.
One of the most likely characters he could be playing is Agatha Harkness’ son, Nicholas Scratch, who often undermines her in his attempt to make himself the most powerful magician.
Locke is best known as Charlie Spring in the Netflix teen series “Heartstopper,” for which he has received a nomination for the Children’s and Family Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Performance.
Emma Caulfield Ford
Actress Emma Caulfield Ford will reprise her role of Dottie, the Queen Bee neighbor caught up in Wanda Maximoff’s spell on “WandaVision.”
Ford is best known as the demon Anya from the “Buffy the Vammpire Slayer” series, and has also appeared in “The Walking Dead” and “Good Girls.”
Ali Ahn
Actress Ali Ahn has been cast in an undisclosed role on “Agatha: Coven Of Chaos.” She is best known for her roles in “Raising Dion,” “Little Demon,” and “Supernatural.”
Maria Dizzia
Actress Maria Dizza has also been cast in an undisclosed role on the series. She is best known for “Orange Is the New Black,” “The Staircase,” and “13 Reasons Why.”
The Series
“Agatha: Coven Of Chaos” stars Kathryn Hahn reprising her role of Agatha Harkness from the Marvel/Disney+ series “WandaVision.”
Not much is known about the storyline of this spin-off, but Agatha, who has been around since the Salem witch trials, was last seen trapped in the town of Westview after her battle with Wanda.
“WandaVision” series creator Jac Schaeffer, who is under a joint overall deal with Marvel and 20th Television, serves as writer and executive producer on this show, along with a planned Vision spin-off.
“Agatha: Coven Of Chaos” is part of Marvel’s Phase 5 plan of stories, and is scheduled to air on Disney+ sometime in Winter 2023.
