The Series

With the reveal of the cast comes a hint of what the series will be about.

Lucasfilm says “The Acolyte” tells the story of “a former Padawan who reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.”

They also say it is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.

The High Republic era of the Star Wars timeline ended about 50 years prior to the events of “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.” It has been explored in comics and books, but this will be the first filmed project set in that time.

The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef. Rayne Roberts and Damian Anderson are producing. Headland will also direct the series pilot.

The series will air on Disney+, but no definitive date has been given yet.
