Bob Saget Tribute on America's Funniest Home Videos

ABC says that this weekend’s “America’s Funniest Home Videos” episode will feature a tribute to former host Bob Saget with clips and remembrances.

“Bob was the backbone of a TV show that has gone onto entertain not only America, but the world,” the show says in an official statement. “Bob made us smile, he made us laugh out loud and, often times, he would make us giggle. A comedy legend. A kind soul. Our dear friend. We will miss you, Bob.”

On the show’s YouTube page, they shared a preview clip of the episode that will air January 16, at 7 pm ET/PT, along with a pleas to donate to the Scleroderma Research Foundation. Saget became a strong advocate for the charity after losing his sister to the disease.

Plus, the SRF says “Every donation received in memory of Bob will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, up to $1.5 million, thanks to a gift from fellow SRF Board Members, Luke Evnin, PhD and Deann Wright, who were inspired by the generous outpouring of love and admiration from friends, family, and fans seeking to honor Bob’s legacy following his passing.”

Saget died January 9, 2022, in Orlando, FL, following the first two shows of his new comedy tour. According to officials no signs of foul play or drugs were found, though the official medical examiner report won’t be released for at least another week.

Here is that preview clip of the tribute that will air this weekend:
