Peter Hollens is a talented a capella singer from Eugene, Oregon who has been making videos on YouTube since 2011 and has grown a following of fans who enjoy listening to his covers of iconic and popular songs, including a variety of Disney tunes. His most recent video “Into the Unknown” is from Disney’s animated feature “Frozen 2.” t was nominated for best original song at the Oscars.
According to a tweet from Hollens, he nearly broke his voice singing this one. But we didn’t notice. It’s both an impressive vocal accomplishment and a feat of video editing.
Composed by Oscar winning music family Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Bobby Lopez, “Into the Unknown” is nearly as big a vocal challenge as “Let it Go,” the belter that everyone remembers from the first “Frozen.” If you watch the Oscars you saw Idina Menzel sing “Into The Unknown” while sharing the stage with the voices of Elsa from a number of the foreign language versions of “Frozen 2.”

It’s been a while since I’ve dived into the wilds of YouTube to showcase a talented musician who is sharing their passion for Disney with a cover of one of their favorite songs. I used to post to the Videopolis series more regularly. If there’s interest I’ll start doing more talented internet performers again. Let me know in the comments here or via one of our social media channels – Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or YouTube.
