Epcot Food and Wine Festival find – Reusable Bamboo Utensils

The Epcot International Food and Wine Festival is one of the must-do events at Walt Disney World. You join throngs of other guests out to enjoy themselves while expanding their world view via the medium of tasty vittles and drinks.

While we love attending the Food and Wine Festival every year, something we don’t like is all the waste it generates. Every booth is another paper or plastic disposable that your food is served on and another plastic utensil in the trash.

Looking at what’s going on around our planet, adding to landfills with all that waste just doesn’t seem responsibly of us, so we were happy to see Disney selling a reusable bamboo utensil set for use around the park.

While it comes with a handy and useful set of three utensils (a fork, spoon, and knife) what makes this a score is the carrying bag with a velcro flap and convenient hook for attaching it to your bag or belt loop. We like that it has this year’s date on it too.

The price is right too at $15 before discount. We were able to use our AP discount to purchase ours, which we found in one of the little Festival stores located around the World Showcase – in our case between Japan and Morocco.

We asked about bringing the set through Disney bag check and the Disney cast member said that we shouldn’t have a problem, but that it should be packed in checked-luggage, not carry-on if you’re flying with them. They can go right next to your empty Star Wars themed Coca-Cola bottles from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Update: 3/31/2021Disney has announced they will have more reusable bamboo utensils available this spring.
