I don’t know about selling my soul for a Disney trip, but I am certainly willing to donate some blood.

The Blood Center is giving one lucky donor a family trip to Walt Disney World (WDW) this summer.

Blood donors in New Orleans (and surrounding areas) between now and August 3 receive an entry into the drawing to win a trip to the Magic Kingdom including travel, hotel (ahem, a deluxe hotel!), dining and admission to WDW in Orlando, Florida.

There are 12 locations of The Blood Center in Louisiana and Mississippi. The Blood Center is also setting up some remote locations through June 4th. Where you might score a free t-shirt along with a chance to win your Disney trip. Check the event listing on their Facebook page.

The Blood Center is a nonprofit organization. It is the primary supplier of blood and blood components to more than 30 area hospitals and outpatient facilities throughout Southeast Louisiana and Southern Mississippi.

“Blood donations decrease during the summer while hospital needs often increase so we hope there’s lots of Disney fans in our community,” says Paul Adams, Public Relations Manager for The Blood Center. “We’re extremely thankful for the generosity of a private donation and a gift from Southwest Airlines for making this promotion possible.”

While 60% of the population is eligible to donate blood, less than 5% does it. To maintain a healthy and stable community blood supply, The Blood Center must collect between 300 to 350 pints of blood every day.

Jess is an Aussie, an attorney and a die-hard Disney fan. She grew up in a city not too far from P. Sherman, 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney; and she still enjoys running around in Snow White pajamas and serenading her family members with Sleeping Beauty’s “Once Upon A Dream” (though, unlike Princess Aurora, she is not blessed with the gift of song). She recently became an Honorary Princess of the Magic Kingdom after her Flynn-Rider lookalike fiancé proposed at Cinderella’s Happily Ever After Dinner at the Grand Floridian Resort. Jess is an Elvis-lover like Lilo, and is otherwise singing along to her Frozen, Moana and Coco soundtracks (anyone listening will wish Ursula would pay her a voice-taking visit). When she doesn't have her nose stuck in a book, Jess delights in writing for The Disney Blog and sharing with fellow fans all things Disney.
