Behind the scenes with a Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Chef at Disneyland

Any visit to Disneyland isn’t complete without a meal at one of its great table service restaurants or sampling some of its unique beverages, treats and desserts. Disney’s food service operation employs hundreds of chefs who all contribute to famous Disney brand of theme park storytelling with the meals they prepare. With Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge the food will have to tell the story of a whole new galaxy far, far away and yet still be familiar enough to guests that they’ll want to consume it.

In a new ‘Every Role a Starring Role’ video, Disneyland introduces Chef Amy Benson who has been a part of the resort’s culinary team for the last 19 years. Chef Benson began her work with Disney at the Grand Californian Resort. Now she is helping to develop the tastes that guests will associate with their visit to the planet Batuu and the Black Spire Outpost, a crossroads of the Outer Rim in the Star Wars galaxy. The taste palate includes flavors inspired by Middle Eastern, Korean, and American cuisines.

Hear more from Chef Amy about some of the out-of-the-world dishes planned for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in this video:
