We know that Disney has said they plan to slow down the pace of Star Wars films hitting theaters, but the Star Wars Galaxy is no longer limited to movies either. There’s the new animated series “Star Wars: Resistance” which debuts on Sunday and a new live-action series from Jon Favreau he’s producing for Disney’s upcoming direct-to-consumer Streaming Service. Production is just underway on that as yet unnamed project.
Star Wars fan site Making Star Wars has the first set photos we’ve seen from the new show. The photos look like a dessert planet with moisture vaporators and sand, could it be Tatooine? Although nothing official has been announced, it’s believed the show will focus on the Mandalorians after the fall of the Empire and take place on familiar Star Wars planets like Tatooine and Mandalore. With the story set shortly after Return of the Jedi, there’s a lot of room to explore new stories.
Are you excited to see what Lucasfilm, Disney, and Jon Favreau can come up with for a Star Wars live-action television series? What do you think about the idea of following the Mandalorians?
